Cheers, that Paratrooper kit just make things easier for me.

I know Maurshen makes an M1 Garand, but does Tanaka make one as well?

2nd Bat/REMF at battlesim makes probably the most skirmishable M1 (in my humble opinion). I have an instruction set for converting an m14 to an M1, that I'd be happy to email to anyone who PM's me with their email address asking for the instructions (simply leaving your email in this thread, or asking me to pm you, is a good way for me to overlook/ignore/sign you up for gay porn).

The gas m1's are nice, and Tommyboy uses one to good effect - but there's this persistant problem of them having issues that can't be corrected when they break.

If you can afford an M1 Garand, and want one, I'd highly suggest that, as it is more authentic, and looks totally bad a$$.

If you are on a budget, a Thompson is completely acceptable.

If you are planning on coming to Jump to Destiny, usually REMF(John Robison, the guy who makes the M1 Garands) has a couple for rent if you'd rather rent your first time and see how you like the M1.

Where do these reenactments go on? I have a Thompson M1A1 and a 1911 so i would be interested in the future. I have a feeling age restrictions come in to play.

I believe The War Dept events minimum age is 15. I recall there was either a notarized consent form or some other prescreen required.

Oh, and for gear, atthefront.com is a great site. I can personally vouch for the incredible quality of their repros, though expensive.

One thing most sites don't carry, strangely enough, is the holster for the 1911.
