Hehe, Ogre is in charge of the crab/crawfish!! I was using my googlefu which is obviously sucky. I was looking only at the gulf coast crawfish as well (I thought we called em crayfish here :) ). I think a for reals BBQ would be an awesome op.

Hmmm...right. I'll talk to the wife about an airsoft OP:Catch and Eat It for next summer.

Got some fresh crab tonight from a buddy. They'd caught their possession limit in 2 days. There were 5 of them. That's 24 a person. For those of you that don't do math, they had a LOT (I suck at math, too, it's okay) of dungies. Their gift was nice. Crabbing in Oregon is NOT closed.

I'm writing up a tentative schedule for the Training Day's of the future. PLA would like to have one Training Event per month, unless we're hosting a game or OP that month.

We'll try to plan an event at someone's house with a BBQ and room in the grass for the lil' ones to scamper around. Similar to National Guard units, this will be more like a "Home Station Drill" -- A training event back at the armory (or house) to work on things that don't need done in the woods, like info on gear, uniform SOP's, COMMs and pistol/Sword duels.

You realize our BBQs are a couple of converted 55gal drums with scrap metal to hold it all together?

Pretty much all the equipment we had at that base camp had been pulled out of DRMO!!

Our truck was a deuce and a half! Those have been retired for shazaam knows how long now. And on the info plate was the date it entered service: 1962

We hardly had any equipment up there that was built later than 69. We were going ghetto style.

Where do you work? And why do you live in the Dalles? Is it part of a federal punishment?

Training Schedule:

0900 First and Second Line Leaders arrive, review training planned
0930 Everyone Arrives
1000 People actually start playing, and gives time for stragglers

At 1000, we will break into four lanes, each lane running 50 minutes, focusing on a specific individual or small group skill, before team level exercises:
Lane 1: Mini Marine - Short Range Marksmanship (SRM), Tactical Reloads, Firing Positions, Individual Weapon Marksmanship

Lane 2: Darius137 + Eudorus - Individual Movement Technique (IMT), Reacting to contact in teams

Lane 3: Kendoflage + Snake Eyes - Cover & Concealment, Movement & Stealth techniques

Lane 4: Ivan - Radio COMMs and proper use

1320 10 minute break (rest, reload, snacks, extra training for special cases)

1330 Class on Team Level Operations:
    Movement Formations
    Danger Areas
    Enemy Spotted / Hasty Ambushes
    Team Leader Duties/Responsibilities
React to Contact / Near Ambushes
    Team Level Flanking

1430 Sergeant's Time (Team Leaders break off and work on their teams using the Team Level Operations' class as a guide)

1600 BBQ

1730 Skirmish

By Team Leaders, I mean the people who have experience in Airsoft such as Wombat, who volunteered for helping out. People will break down into smaller groups of six or so and go out on their own to practice the team level movement, occasionally using one person as OPFOR to react to contact and bound towards an enemy using today's training.

I see no radio training.
My team was excited about this so we won't have to hear "I need help with the guy by the tree." anymore.
We can run this part if you need us to.

Damn, I'll have to figure out how to do all of this stuff in the next week and a half...do I wear plate carrier or rock it old school with the ALICE gear?

EDIT: Darius, don't forget to tell me where I need to be to pick up the equipment to haul out to the field...
