Having alcohol restricted at the next Splat Action OP would be good... I didn't like having to stay up all night because of the drunk fellow being pulled out of the portapotty.

Otherwise, I loved the game, but I was sorta dissapointed in the people.

Agreed. Tactical drinking is one thing, blackout drunk is quite another.

I thought the whole APST changing over during the game was lame. But yet Awesome! at the same time. it spiced up the OP. But I was pissed that our own Corp Medics were healing the APST guys, when they weren't on our team LOL it was really funny that APST just walked up and picked up the Bio box and just walked away with only one person notice that they were making off with the goods. At least Amos got one to center mass for that one. Go PSC / Randal! for picking him off.

Thanks folks...My first AP op, what a great time .....a suggestion for the vehicle rule thingy.....if they want to do the unarmored technical thing with pickups etc.... offer no impunity from BB hits. That will prevent the drive by hose downs that kept annoying the crap out of the dismounted troops. If they want to spend the time /money to armor up their rig, thats cool...otherwise let em die like the rest. Thanks again for a great time!

personally the whole switching sides thing was completely lame....talking with people at the end of the game, alot of people were dissapointed by the confusion and ended up just staying at the respawn tent because we dident know who to shoot or who not to shoot...glad i only payed $15...i deffinately enjoyed all the great kills i got, but as soon as rules started bending....i just kinda got alittle dissapointed.

Thanks! I am glad some of you were paying attention. I did hear your command element talking about the rogue squad on the radio several times - and I delivered direct intel to them about saboteurs. If the rest of your team wasn't out counting kills and playing like this is a skirm they might have known what was going on. This happens to bad guys a lot - it's part of being OPfor. It's like robbing a bank and then being shot by your accomplice after you make off with the money. If you can't deal with the greed and the backstabbing, stay outta the OPFOR ;)

The game was really fun! I had a blast chilling with everyone and seeing old friends. Also at Matt towards the end we were taking the main village to have a better point of attack at the Starlog villiage which was conveniently located near a NG spawn I believe. I did think that the APST guys turning was funny and made things interesting however having our G&G Snipers told to turn on us was kind of crazy talk. However to their credit they were great shots. Overall I had a great time and OPFOR is the way to go. Mercs are Mercs, just need to pay them more.

Also advice for future ops with Mercs, have the ability to pay off Mercs with fake money that can be used for airstrikes or other things ingame.

Bravo for a OP well done!

oh i found out what was going one when our sniper shot me in the chest and 6 guys were trying to take out our CO..... its airsoft, rules were set in place and were ment to be followed, but apparently that dident apply to the people that switched sides.....to tell you the truth, when the betrayal happened, i felt like i was playing an old shadow fox game where they set it up so that a certain team was supposed to win...like i said, its was fun and i got great kills, worth the $15...but alot of people agreed with me when we were in the tent that if it was more than $15 it would have been a waste...if the betrayal wasent there, the entire game would have truthfully been worth $35 - $40 and i would not care who won because it would have been the best game ive gone to in the last 2 years...but no amount of bitching i do is gonna really help. pretty much im giving personal input and fustrated venting.

I'm surprised that people are complaining so much about APST switching sides at an undisclosed time.

From the beginning of discussion it was clear that even though they were listed under the Corp Sec. roster, they were a rogue element and would have their own orders independent from either side throughout the day. (In fact this was something that the CSD command launched a "formal complaint" about.)

Saying that the game would have been worth a higher entry fee if it weren't for a switching of sides by APST that should have been all too obvious comes off sounding more like sore loosing than a constructive complaint. Do your reading next time or go cry somewhere else.

Oh, definitely. Me too. I would've been playing and having a hell of a lot of fun no matter what happened. I had the good fortune to be rolling out with a squad of guys that were dead set on having some goddamn fun, and we did. I actually didn't even know that APST had switched sides until after the game was over. I just spent the second half of the game fighting at Hamburger Hill, and on that side of the Village.

I don't think the game was really stacked too badly against CSD at any point, but having NO idea if I should shoot people wearing my own camo or not for the last part of the game was quite disappointing, At one point I did just sit at the spawn for like twenty minutes as a result of that (as did quite a few of us).

I am going to have to agree to disagree. From my perspective, something had to happen to keep this game fun for everybody. In a 1-sided OP, the winning side has fun turkey shooting for about an hour but then they get bored... People start cheating, names get called, bad stuff happens. The losing team hates the OP and wants to kill the OP organizer's whole family.

For this reason, lots of times people will plan for wildcards. This is not a new thing, the decision to have them go rogue was not on the fly. I had planned for that option when I first started putting together an OP. You always need something to sway the balance.

Could it have been communicated better? Yes. Could APST have understood their respawn rules better? Yes. Could the Corporate Security Detail, with it's 112 people on their side have slaughtered the 10 APST members and taken back their objective? You would think so.
