Red Congo II
In the summer of 2008, a string of villages stretching from the African countries of Angola to Zambia were ravaged by a never before seen strain of the deadly Ebola Virus. Doctors treating the victims were reporting that the virus showed a decreased incubation period and an increased mortality rate of 98%. Victims of this virus died within four to six days of being exposed. A sample of the virus was sent to the CDC (Center for Disease Control) in Atlanta Georgia for analysis. When the Virus was examined they discovered that the virus had been genetically engineered for use as a biological weapon.
On June 21, 2009 the CIA reported that they had found the base of operations, for German Scientist Gunther Bock. Bock is working for a group calling themselves the ESG (Extreme Salafest Group). Our intelligence indicates that the ESG was responsible for the Ebola epidemic that devastated the villages last summer. The CIA has received intelligence from agents stationed in the Congo about a possible sale of the virus on the Black market. The agents have been working closely with arms dealers and other high ranking members of the black market. The word being passed around is that the ESG is looking for the highest bidder to sell off the virus.
The President has ordered SOCOM with the assistance of USAMARIID (United States Army Medical Research for Infectious Diseases) to come up with a plan to intercept the virus before it falls into the hands of a rouge nation or a terrorist group that would use it in a populated area. Their second priority is the capture of Gunther Bock and any research data they can find to help the CDC and USAMARIID come up with a cure for this deadly creation.
