Watch out, Stargate can be addicting if you get into it.

Thanks for the fantastic suggestions Nocte and Tyrant, I think the most important thing in this is going to be putting cool sci-fi elements into the scenario, while still making it accessible to players who know nothing about the show. Stargate has such a huge range of storylines and just generally awesome stuff, I know there's stuff in there that can be turned into a set of really great scenarios.

Really, someone else besides me should step up and steer this in the right direction, I just wanted to get the ball rolling on what could potentially be a very cool idea.

I think that the weapons should not be limited to anything... Have you seen stargate armories? They have every weapon you can think of and more! As far as the Replicators and SG go, the replicator idea would work. We could give them pistols and say "Here. These are your lazerrs. Go kill people." I can't remember if they ever really used lazers... Oh well, it would make it a bit more fun. I think that we could have 3 SG teams, Stargate Command, Stargate Atlantis, and Stargate Base A (which is talked about numerous times in SG Atlantis). For the Stargate we could use our nerdish impulses and build one, or just put 2 cones close ot each other and have our Stargate. Maybe we could have Stargate against the Amish dudes from SG Atlantis. You know, the guys who pretended to be amish but where really a big military group? I'll be right back after I get the name.

EDIT: Those Amish Militants are the Genii. I guess possesing an under ground bunker and WMDs don't make them amish anymore.

Didn't the Atlantis combat teams wear Urban, MARPAT, or grey BDUs?

I've seen them in blue.

They use blue, black, grey, Olive Drab, and Digital Urban camo B.D.U's. Frankly, I think there next step would be multi-cam. But, I don't think that SG attendees would like to have there B.D.U's limited to Gray, Black and Blue. SG has to come with some customization, right? Not to mention the amount of countries on SG Atlantis. The Camo could definatly vary.

Having those nasty weapons restrictions would suck some serious a$$, so we should have any of those. If the replicators are going to have multiple hits, how do we keep track of how many hits they have, honor system?

Honor system would be hard, especially with a mass of "Replicator" bodies running at you. I think that they would have to have some sort of penetrable thing (like printer papaer) to show how many times they where hit. What if the wore white (or other light colored) piece of paper over there tactical stuff and B.D.U's to show that they had been hit when a BB penetrates the paper?

EDIT: I think that replicators should ware some sort of easy identable color, like in the series they always wore white. But, guys running around in white camo's would look stupid.

hahaha! lol yeah a bunch of guys is white jumpsuits running around haha wow- this type of op may be harder to pull off, but it looks promising- with a bit of effort it could really happen. There's so many easy ideas for ops from the show too. (lol I've seen every episode) your ideas remind me of the SG1 episode where the team is training some new recruits, but they're sucking so they decide to make a 'real' mission where the SGC is taken over and O'neil is shot and stuff...

WAY TO FAR!!!!!!!! Anyways replicators would have to charge or use pistols because in one episode the replicators shoot "acid", they also run up and tear peoples arms off.

Atlantis military usually wears black. Off hand I dont recall John Sheppard wearing anything else other than the "jumpsuits" that everyone who went on the expidition wore.

There are also Marines there and I have found pictures Lt. Aiden Ford from the first season wearing MARPAT. But in the more recent episodes where I've seen Marines, they were wearing some sort of funky digital camo that was all black and grey.

Atlantis has gone through a lot of uniform changes. Image
These were the first ones, that most everyone wore (even a lot of the military personnel. Dark grey with a SLIGHT bit of blue (although it's very muted), with these weird triangle patches that denote department (red for command, black for military, blue for science, etc.) These were custom made for the show, and aren't in any way a military uniform. Although most of the marines wore more traditional camo BDUs most of the time.

Image
Then they've switched to these for more recent episodes. Still totally non-military, but much easier to replicate.

Crew on the various Earth-based ships (Daedalus, Apollo, the F-302s) wear good old OD jumpsuits.

Shepperd has some black BDU short sleeved dress shirts he likes to wear around the base, as well.
