Black Sierra Productions has earned a reputation for producing top notch events.
Keeping stride with this mantra of quality we, (the media production team,) hope to break the envelope with the video coverage of this event.

We plan to have in excess of 6 video cameras rolling so there won't be a moment of action that gets missed.
If you want to make it into the final video, you've gotta look good. Tacticool will get you on screen, anything else will leave you on the cutting room floor.

So...
With that said; Get your gear in order, sharpen your skills and bring it!

Are the vehicle drivers 100% scripted, or will they conform to individual team SOP's?

Is it CQC FPS limits for the training tomorrow?

We are doing our best to get a couple guys down, but the traffic situation (I5 is closed) is kinda screwing with our plans. We will do our best.

Yes, CQC limits.

Yes drivers are 100% scripted for the event.

Rgr Binary, safety first. Hope you can make it.

And Chapped is 100% correct. He is the media genius for this program. He's in total control of this media...so when you look broke a$$ and you get your 2 seconds instead of minutes...don't come complain to me...look at yourself in the mirror and say....Did I look that ridiculous?

Also...for all you actors that Reese has been talking with, the weekend before the event is the rehearsals. He'll fill you in on specifics, but it will be a lot of fun.

We'll use as many bodies as we can, but if you can't commit to rehearsing, we can't put you in a spotlight role.

Werd.

I understand your feeling.

The nice thing about Quality gear is that you can use it for years to come. Belive me when I say: If you dig the Exec protection senerio there is a good chance you will see more of it involved in the future.

There are alot of people that don't have the right kit for a pertcular mission. Most guys that " do it fer a livin" only have to have a kit for what they do. That being said, we are airsofters and we try to be EVERY Tactical operator.

Even the biggest gear whore will not have a kit for every possable mission.

Thank you for the effort you are putting into this, The imersion of the event will pay off.
I never thought I'd have to invest in a plate carrier AND soft armor so that I could go UC on a mission I was originally lead to believe was PMC/MOUT based. I strive to be one kind of operator, and this isn't as much as a reply to you as it is a statement about my discomfort in spending more money or jerry-rigging something half-assed for a situation that a team with a theme like DRAT's generally wouldn't go for. I can understand playing a part, I lettered in Theatre in High School, but when the price tag string attaches itself far up my anus I start getting cranky.

That being said, I'm still pumped for the event, but I'm utterly flabbergasted as to my remaining options after being forced into a niche part. It was hard enough to get the whole team to agree on a standard CQB loadout and now we have to have an week-long discussion about how we're going to hide our weapons and body armor under the old trench coat we found in the hall closet.

Junto -
I think we all share your discomfort with the happenings. I think this will be a learning lesson for all of us. You, me, BSP and the rest community. When you write it down it needs to be concrete. If it goes into a handbook, that handbook is the word of god for that event.

Lets hope in the future, before an event is set to a calendar and a handbook is written. That all things are thought out during the planning stages. Then all info we need to know about participating in that event is written and will not change.

I along with the No.5 R.A.C. appreciate the efforts that BSP are making to provide us with the ultimate competitions and operations.
I just hope they understand the pains of their consumers when things are changed three weeks from go date. It means we have to pull together and alter our plans, equipment and training.

Knowing BSP, Bill, Mike, Adam and Troy they will never let this happen again.

But for the purposes of this competition, we are in Ireland, which may or may not allow for open carry.....

It's honestly a minor change Junto. It doesn't mean you can't bust a move and go all super contractor. Id just run a weesatch instead of a full body program. Zip up the coat...and bam...nothing. You get into the thick of it...unzip and defend the situation.

We are going for realism. So, here is your chance to step up to the plate and live the role.

Originally, we had tentatively scheduled the scenario to run in the middle east....the contractor look...in all it's forms is pretty consistent around the globe. The only difference is, you don't see guys dripping in SAW's and long guns in a more civil environment. We chose Ireland because it's easy to pull of white on white violence...and the environment is green...therefore busting the Middle East is a little difficult to pull off on camera.

The safety and LE influence also played a part.

Back to the carry items.....just because you don't see them, doesn't mean they are not there? No. It means they are more creative about how they are approaching their carry.

Think outside the box guys. You have the gear to get the job done.....you just gotta put your mind to work on it. If you need to lock box a long rifle, then your team needs to have a contingency about getting to those weapons in the event you have to react with long gun force in a given situation.

The direction Troy showed was only another way to approach the problem. Would I wear a suit? Likely not. I'd wear my 5.11's, a jacket...and maybe some armor under the jacket....with a concealed handgun and maybe a sub-gun with a couple mags. This is about protecting the primary by whatever means necessary.

Bill, are there any sleeping arraignments for people driving up from far away? Or do we need to figure our own shit out? I'm fine sleeping in my car out front of S-4, but some people might not be. Just wondering if you had thought about this at all.

Hm... The points off for visible gear thing makes me all paranoid about letting anything show even under the clothes. I was uncomfortable with the idea of rolling contractor in the first place (hypehypehypehype, etc.) so this is a super curveball for me.

I'll deal, sure, but this still puts me on my ear.

Sounds to me like the reasoning for changing to "low-key" was not the scenario, but rather the <police, county, city, whatever> asking it to be toned down. Could be mistaken, Seagreen knows for sure.

And if that's the case, I don't think it matters. Open carry is legal in Oregon.

So even if they were real firearms, there's not much that can be done to you. :)

Was just a cocky statement, anyway. Nothing serious.
