Portuguese Troops in Africa during the 60's and 70's

Postby CyruS_PT » Tue Jun 12, 2007 7:11 am

Hi folks!
Am just geting this here to let you all know about a project of the portuguese airsoft comunity. In this project, a bunch of players from various teams are going to meet and re-enact as elements of the several units that went to war in Angola, Guinea and Mozambique in the 60's / 70's period.
There are several camo bdu's available already as well some of the weapons used at the time.
Pictures will be available soon, so take care and be sure to follow this thread carefully.

Hey folks!
Just a litle update on this thread...
Was trying to post some pics here and it was going all crazy like on me, so i uploaded them to my personnal album.
Notice that those are scans of pictures taken back almost 40 years ago.
The colors ain't the best, the clarity of the image won't be crystal like... Just dun expect miracles.

And yes, those were taken on the spot, back in Guinea.

Ok folks... A lil bit of necropost. Just giving you all a heads up on an atempt to create a somewhat realistic mortar for airsoft. Project goes under testing as soon as a M203 grenade is purchased for that.
More to follow whenever there is any data to share, so stay tuned.

It's time for another necropost in this thing here...
Am looking for the G3A4 wire stock... anyone willing to point me towards one? In Europe preferably...

Wire stock? Is that the same as the retractable one? I have one of those for sale, but I'm certainly not in Europe.

Yes! That was the word that was hidden under my tongue and didn't wanted to come out.
And i believe that i found the thing i am looking for in San Marino / Italy. The shop is Safarasoftair.
What ya think Nocte? Is $60 ok for one of those things, brand new, produced by Marui?

It might be a little pricey. I got mine for $50, and it's a Classic Army (it's a little sturdier in the part that attaches to the receiver). I'd sell it for $40.

Do you ship overseas? :D

The problem is if it stops in Customs i'll have a bunch of paper work to solve and a lot of doe to get it with me. Kinda like the Violent Crime Bill on UK, here the law is getting so tight upon airsoft players that one of these days our "babes" will look like legos...

And i mean it in the worse way you can imagine. There's actually a law renewal being discussed in the parliament that proposes the minimal paint percentage to be 50% of the entire surface of the gun, just to distinguish airsoft guns from the real deal.

Can you imagine half of a M60 painted with blazing red or yellow?
Can you imagine someone in the bush, with a extra effective camouflage and then suddendly a big bright red / yellow thing being waved? If i didn't knew better i would fall on the ground and roll a good while, laughing my a$$ off.

I've never shipped anything overseas before, but I can't imagine how a stock shipped completely separate from an AEG would be cause for alarm. Then again... I've never shipped anything overseas before. ;)

It's time to necropost here.
A few weeks ago, i got a hold of a original camouflage set, dated from the early 70's. Got it prepared and reinforced, ready to be dressed. After that, i've took some pictures. Later on the weekend i'll post some pictures in the gallery and will leave the link in the next post, so keep tuned in. 8)
