WHEN: Sunday, May 18, 2008 at 10am. Please be there at 9am (or earlier) so you can gear up and bullshit like we always do. Player briefing is at 9:30 followed by chrono. If someone would like to bring an additional chrono to make that part run faster, I'd sure appreciate it.
WHERE: Scappoose Field
AGE LIMIT: 16+
MAGAZINE RESTRICTIONS: none
RULES:
This will be a three-way Capture the Flag skirmish. The object of the game is for your team to capture the two opposing team's flag without having yours captured. First team to do so wins.
Teams will be split up based on camo if possible, but if a ton of folks show up in the same/similar patterns we might have to resort to tape bands. I know, I know, you hate/love tape. Let's keep that discussion to the thread already made for it.
What if I'm shot [wherever]?
All hits to the body, gear, helmet, vest, shoelaces, and testicles count as a death. We're not doing the arm/leg thing like in CQC. Hits to your gun do not count. Ricochet hits (meaning, it bounced off something or someone before it hit you) do not count. If you're not sure if you were hit, you were. Go back to respawn.
Can I carry two or more flags at once, if I unleash my inner-Rambo?
One player per flag. This includes your own team's flag. It would be a pretty stupid move to put two flags on one guy, anyway, since two teams of players would be trying to kill that one player at the same time.
What happens if I'm shot while carrying a flag?
You call your hit like the respectable airsofter you are (right?), drop the flag where you were shot, and walk back to respawn. It doesn't matter if you're carrying your flag or the opposing team's flag. Drop it. Additionally, do not throw flags to your teammates like a javelin for any reason.
Can my team join up with one of the opposing teams to complete my objective?
I suppose I can't stop you from doing that, but all three teams are trying to capture all three flags. It's not like you can share a flag, you're eventually going to need the flag from the team you have allied with, and you'll probably get turned on as soon as one of you picks up the flag from the poor team you joined up against. Let's not do the gang-rape team tactic on this one, k?
Can I hide my flag or another team's flag?
No, that's retarded and no one wants to dig their flag out of the bottom of the ravine or the enormous ant mounds. The only time you can move a flag is if you're stealing an opposing team's flag and bringing it back to your base or returning your own flag to your base. Additionally, when carrying flags, you may not roll them up and stow them in your gear. Carried flags must be visible. You can attach the flag to yourself in such a manner that you can still shoot, but if the flag isn't visible, you will be among the ranks of the cheating hacks.
What are the respawn rules?
Three-man respawn at the respawn markers near to your team's flag. Respawn flags are not capturable. Do not pick them up and move them. Respawns are not affected by if your flag (or an opposing team's flag) is present or not. Once three teammates are back at respawn, they are back in play. Do not loiter in the respawn area. If you're alive, move away.
Directions:
Take HWY 30 all the way into Scappoose, past Fred Meyer and the red Peace Candle, past the school, through downtown etc.
Take a left at the light for Scappoose-Vernonia Hwy .
Take that all the way to Cater Rd, and take a right. The right turn is a pretty sharp one, so it's kind of distinctive. There's also a sign a few hundred feet before the turn that announces the road name before you get there.
From Cater Rd, slow down (since you're in a neighborhood), and take a left onto Alder Creek Rd. There's a house on the corner with a very simple wood-pole fence for visual reference. It should be the first or second turn after you get onto Cater Rd.
When on Alder Creek, be careful driving. Be respectful of those living in this area. Follow Alder Creek Rd all the way, there are a few twists and turns, but it's nothing you can figure out if your eyes are open. You'll know you're going the right way when the road goes to one-lane (and there's a sign designating this), and when you see large pipes and broken down trucks along the sides of the road. Keep going, the road goes to gravel and you're almost there.
Follow the gravel until you see everyone, and find a spot on the side of the road to park.
Here's a map Catch22 drew of the play-field. It's not perfect but it should help.
