Postby hellmutt » Wed Jan 02, 2008 11:35 am

Hello my Oregon brothers (and sisters)!

We have 2 new events scheduled for this Spring:

Image
March: RED DAWN!

The time has come.

The Russians have invaded. They occupy American land and have our towns are in a vice grip of propaganda and brutal control. It is up to you to fight the fight! You have fled to the mountains and have gathered a band of fighters to take up the cause. The winter snows make it difficult to return but offer you protection from those who hunt you! You will be fighting Russians, Cubans and traitors!

Get ready, you'll be coming for blood when the snows thaw.

Death to somebody! I don't know which side I'll be on but I'll probably end up going. Sounds awesome. I like the Red Dawn Idea better than the Gadsden. Just IMO.

Sounds interesting. Where is this happening? I wish you had some Oregon events so the drive wasn't a big deal.

That's awesome, I was just watching that movie and thought about making it into an airsoft op. I am glad you are doing it, that means It will be done right! WOLVERINES!

I am going to try to get some APST involvement.

Ha, I do too, but its bright green.

Jason, I cant get to battlesim from work, whats the date on Red Dawn. FYI, you should use the AP event calendar. Lots of people check that more than the Events forum.

That poster has been around for 2+ years. I'll be surprised if anyone's still planning on putting this one on.

Well, I will take a battlesim game over an osk game any day. Smaller miles of road walking into ambush ratio.

Cool, looks like we sparked some interest!

More then likely we will do the game on March 15-16. With the event starting around 1PM on Sat (so people don't have to get up at 4 am for the drive) and going into night ops on Sat night and ending early Sunday afternoon. But nothing is set into stone yet.

I'll be working on sponsorship for this event so that means a raffle which I know everyone loves. We haven't finalized a field yet, it will really depend on the number of people. We will announce the date and registration before the end of the month so we can gauge if this will be a large scale (100+) event or not.

Per Oregon, we have a field possibility near the Portland area. I believe it is around 20-30 acres and we may host a game there if all the stars align but again nothing set in stone.

The idea was to have the playable side be the Wolverines and regular US Army. While the US Army wasn't in the main movie much other then helos - there was evidence of a large scale battle.

We're psyched on running this game and think it will be one for the record books!
