8 year olds with AEGs?

Negative Ghostrider, the pattern is full.

Red Flag?

Please explain?

I'm looking to get a group of people together for a game..

Where's the red flag? And seriously... how many 8yo's are on this site?

I'll bet not many. Just have that in there in case dads and kids want to joint in...

Let me know what you think the problems are and I'll be happy to work with you.

Well, for starters, your first post is promoting a game. You are an un-establisher player/promoter. Then you say "The exact location will only be given to registered participants of this event and will not be open for walk-ons or the general public."

Secondly, many of us take Airsoft quite seriously, some of us could be classified as professional. To put it out there that there could be a large number of persons under 13 years old is a bit like The NY-Yankees to play with your little-league team.

Thirdly: No mention of safety. No game outline. No rules at all.

3. When you do post that you're having a game, make sure you include the date of the event, the time you wish to start, the directions to the field, any relavent fees, and any other special instructions (like parking, or what have you).

Gotcha,

First
The location is being kept for registrants only because its a privately owned plot of land that the land owner doesn't want advertised to just anyone, we want to be able to pre-screen anyone who'll be attending so we'll be sure that we'll have the types of players we want. From the way you describe many players here there shouldn't be any problems.

Second
There may or may not be younger players. I'd expect if you're a professional you'd know how to play with a wide range of players, good and bad. Certianly nobody wants to be playing against out of class players, but that's easily managed during the event.

Thirdly
All that information is in the downloadable information on our site but I'm happy to outline it here as well.

I'll also modify the post to include the following:

Date of event
Start Time
Directions to the Field
Fees
Parking

Thanks!

Hmm.
You need to make rules, Hits, if your caught cheating, and all that.
I do like the FPS limit though ;)

Who cares about the rules, I'm more disturbed by the fact that the banner graphic has a LENS FLARE! Hahaha, just kidding. Guys, this is what Private/Unofficial games are. They may not be run how you like them, but they're not league events. If you don't want to play with younger players, how about don't show up then?

It seems to me that the probability of a field full of younger players is about zero. It isn't like this is going to be Peewee Herman's Airsoft Division. They are leaving the door open for parent/child teams.

The problem I have is how unprofessional the website looks. But then again, as an hobbyist web developer I'm a tad biased in that regard. :(

My 8 year old has an AEG, he also has a rubber knife, and during SDD CQC training he comes flying out of little cracks and crevices like a rabid bat bent on death and destruction or a black clad minime..........which ever you prefer! ;)

My wife thinks using him as a training tool is evil............BAH! I just tell her Iam trying to make a man out of him and to "but out!" While I make him wear a pball mask, he is quite comfortable with taken on a squad of adult men with 400 fps AEG's............

You know what?
I think I've got the same kid...

My son is 8 as well and he's able to do a limited ammount of running around... so the time on the field is limted by his endurance and size.

He still has a great time in mixed company though...

I agree the site sucks...

I just threw what you see now up last night....

I'm not terribly skilled when it comes to web development but I'm looking to make www.a-rabid-squirrel.com look a bit cleaner and like my other sites... www.cyberfembot.com (not that that's a great site either).

At the very least it'll have clean navigation and easy to use access to all parts... as it is now... its the best I could do in 30 minutes.

If the 8 year old in question is tough enough and accompanied by an adult at all times, I say go for it. I have known 8 year olds that are tougher than many adults. I can think of one who plays with his dad in shorts and a t-shirt. What a great opportunity for the 8 year old to learn basic firearms safety, sportsmanship, honor, etc.

The guy setting it up is 36 for pete's sake. If he were closer, I would go with my kids.
