I would want the full black SS dress uniform and a luger, or just dress up like hitler and use a luger or mauser m712.

Is that allowed?

I am slightly interested, but I am completely lazy. I have money, but you'll have to do all the shopping and string pulling to get me to do this.

Also I foresee a lot of wars between submachine guns and snipers. No grunts. No regular infantry.

I say you put an FPS limit, where the SMG's are at 330fps tops, and the bolt action are at 550, and semi auto are around 400.

If not hitler or a snappy ss dresser, I'd be down for a german falshmalagalalagala flecktarn-looking smock and getup.

Fluffy wrote:I would want to do a Russian load out. But my PPsH41 is a phony pony of a project. The cost and lack of the guns I really want keep from doing it. The fact that I don't have the money for one loadout even keeps me from doing CQB, Which would really just be a smaller gun and a better gas mask. And that it would be hard to do the Afrika korps in Oregon :P
And the lack of tanks and air cover leave out a part I would want. The reason I don't mind this as much in modern is because it can b explained in briefing why there re none (the "bad" nation is to poor, and the "good" team is a strike team with no outside help) and I can't quite see that for WWII airsoft.

For WWII at least you could claim that the weather is too bad for the air cover to get into position... or, if the weather is good where the event is going down, you could say that the weather is too difficult at the air strip, or that the air support you're counting on is preoccupied defending bombers returning from a raid or something. There were even more reasons than in modern warfare why the aircraft couldn't make it.

As for me, there are two things holding me back right now from doing a WWII impression (both for blank fire reenactment and for airsoft):

1. the ever important money. I've been doing the research, trying to dig up the very PATTERNS for the uniform, and I think I might be able to make it from raw material for cheaper than finding the gear for sale in some size I can fit. Not sure if that will work yet, but it'd be nice... especially if I can find a cloth quality similar to what was actually used. This will be a long time coming, though, since I'm a poor college student.

2. Lack of Interest in the SA area. Spokane Airsoft these days seems to be almost obsessively focused on two types of play: modern, and Vietnam. I've asked people around there about it before, but anyone that might have been interested in WWII is too focused on doing a Vietnam kit first.

If I can get the gear together, I'll let you know. I'm actually planning on doing a US WWII Airborne kit, like what they were wearing at Bastogne, for next winter.

Absolutely! I started building my German infantryman impression two years ago and now its complete. I started out with the reenacting guys, and they are really nice and will let you borrow what you need as long as you come to each event with a little something more. Plus these guys always have extra items they are willing to sell to you at reduced cost and will do a lot of leg work to find other things for you as cheaply as possible.

Now we are also doing WWII airsoft. Perfect recruits for it since we already have everything we need!

Reenacting is a lot of fun too.

See you at Jump to Destiny (http://thewardept.org/)

Im with him on this one. I would want a full SS suit and put a Kar98K with a scope in my hand and i will be the deadliest German you have ever seen :)

Mainly the lack of availability of the equipment/gear, as well as the low number of WW2 events. It seems that the majority of the AP community is focused on modern/tacticool airsoft. If there was more community interest, I would certainly become a "deutsch soldat".

The fact that I'd want to set up a either a Russian or US Marine load out. But even if there was increased interest in WWII Airsoft it would all end up being western front and I'd have no use for the load outs I'd want.

between blank fire and airsoft there are over 8 events a year in the PNW. There really is no lack of gear, for the German side all the uniforms and gear are a click away on the net; and there are MP40s and MP44s for under $200. A BF K98 is under $300.

The only thing holding me back from building up a kit is being able to find a good scope mount for my Tanaka Kar98k.
