Probably not very many if you intend to hurt them.

In serious answer, I doubt many people from the Portland area would travel to an unknown field hosted by an unknown event organizer.

You gotta start somewhere, the games might start small but take photos and/or videos at every event. People are going to want to see pictures of the field too. Once they know what to expect and around how many people to expect, they might make the trip.

I may be interested provided the first event is free. You'll bring in a bigger crowd if you don't charge for the first few games.

I've gone to Ellensberg for a skirmish before, so Wenatchee wouldn't be too bad.

My son and I would be interested, after seeing pics. Also would be nice to know the purposed amount of game time, one day or two, camping, bon fire(if camping available), night game, purposed scenario, blank firing, smoke, sound grenades, mag restrictions, are u using typical AP fps limits, bio field, a little background on the game host, etc...
Would be more interested as more info is available. And we could possibly/probably bring more people. We live an hour south of Washington, would definitely like to venture out, but probably not if it's only going to only be a short type game. Unless Jew is going, then screw it all , we're down!

You have to start somewhere and I think you have some balls for posting this. Provided the first event is decently organized ODA 556 would be willing to make the trip there.

Having both teams in woodland and only an armband to distinguish between the two is a VERY bad idea.

I'd also explain all the rules in depth on the forum, and go over them again at the game. While it's annoying to hear what you've already read to some people, not everyone bothers to read what's been posted. It'll create less confusion and make for a better event.

a 3 day event for your first time hosting also isn't ideal. If you don't have everything ironed out and it drags on for 3 days, no one will be happy. Or they'll just up and leave and be very uninterested in attending again.

When you have a date for your event and everything is finalized, post it to the events forum. Then also while you post it there, add it to the calendar so people will see it up there, instructions for posting to the calendar are here. It's good practice to keep all of your important event details updated in the first post of the topic, as that's where people look for the information.

Just tends to bother people. If you make it very clear beforehand, it can work out really well so that no one team has the advantage. A better split might be digital woodland vs woodland, if you were to do something like that.

Um, IRA would be civilian clothing. And I know almost any airsoft storyline could be offensive to somebody, this one might be a little over the top. (Like the kid that wanted to do the Westboro Baptist Church game.) Some topics, particularly a resent religious conflict were the majority of casualties were women and children, might slightly be in bad taste. Just saying, but you do what you want. BTW I come up with storylines for games all the time that I scrap because they cross the line of "good taste" If it was just you and your friends it'd be one thing, but when throwing a public game it's something to consider.

Also do you own the land? Because who ever does, could be liable for injury or death of a player. So you'll need waivers, and they can't just be signed by a minors friend or brother.

All that aside, My family is from Medical Lake, so I would love to come home for a game. Amtrak would be a cheap and easy way to get up to that area from Portland.

Woodland, and Marpat separating the teams, in my opinion, is worse than just armbands. It's really difficult to tell the difference in pattern while either hiding in bushes or shadows, or while people are moving at a distance. Armbands aren't great, but they can be effective.
I think try to separate from green based camo, and tan based camo would be most feasible. Plus I'm sure enough of us have both green, or tan based camo we could bring to offset lopsided numbers. I wouldn't be against getting a preliminary count of team numbers and then dressing in the appropriate camo for the team needing people.
