Where do you store your equipment during this cold weather?

Postby Cyclops » Fri Dec 06, 2013 4:32 pm

I store most of my stuff in the garage but I figured with this cold weather it might be best to bring a few things inside. You think they will be fine inside the garage? I'm also talking about A LOT (16 AEGs, 2 sniper guns, 5 hand guns, 15 NIMH & 10 Lipo batteries, 140 bags of bio Bbs, 20 cans of green gas) (that's just to name VERY few of my items) of stuff. Wife would get pissed if I brought everything inside. What should I try to sneak inside the house?

Don't worry about it... Cold isn't as bad as people make it out to be...

Those of us who were on Mary's Peak 10/2007 know that cold doesn't really mess with us.

I've never thought about it.
Most of my stuff is in the corner of the living room or in the car.
The only things I would worry about are batteries a day or so before the game. Otherwise I've not seen cold really effect anything.
I suppose some of the grease/lube could congeal or something, but basically batteries are the only issue I've ever had(no need to talk about regular gas guns, excluding the LM4s)

As long as it is dry, then you'll be OK. If the air is excessively damp in the garage, put your airsoft guns on your side of the bed and sleep in the garage.

I just pile everything in to the closet, and then scream Democracy at the missus if she argues.

This is one of the few times I feel that Saudi Arabia has it right... Bring everything inside, and if woman says something you stone her while screaming "WOMAN DON'T SPEAK!".

Wish I could and I'm sure I'm probably the only guy here that will say my wife could literally kick my a$$ and get away with it. She's a nurse and has told me some CRAZY things she has learned or heard about. Sooo I'll try to keep my sack for as long as I can... OR at least keep what I have left.... LOL

Your best bet is to tear up the carpet in one corner of the house and shove a huge pile of gear under it. Then, sit back and deny that anything's there or that you did it. 8)

The batteries are the only things that would even remotely benefit from the warm. Even then, storing lipos cold makes them drain/ degrade more slowly (if you aren't using them, you should have your smart charger drain them all to the storage voltage...if your charger doesn't totally suck it shouldn't be hard to do that).

That said, I remember reading something recently that said nimhs are damaged by storing them cold. I have no idea how much, or how much cold it takes to do the damage, but it doesn't hurt to bring them in, and batteries don't take up much space, so she should be understanding...or not find them, your choice. ;)

I had to throw out maybe two hundred bio bb's in a little grenade-loader because they got moist.

LOL I have roughly 450,000 Bio Bbs in my garage. It would suck if they got wet....

Damn. . . They start smelling like Elmer's non-toxic glue and get a little slimy. Definitely store those somewhere safe.

Well obviously you don't want to stone your woman, they're expensive in this country. Luckily I can just shotgun chocolate at her and that serves as a long term distraction.
