Airsoft at Splat Action

Postby Collier » Wed Oct 02, 2013 9:44 am

Splat Action is Going Balless!
That’s right, every month starting in November; Splat Action will be hosing a scenario game exclusively for airsoft. No paintballers will be allowed on the field during these events.
The scenario games will typically start with a night game on Saturday and culminate with an all day game on Sunday. Every event will have a raffle where the tickets are not purchased but are earned on the field.
Camping is free
Vendors of airsoft equipment and supplies will be on site to support each event.
More information coming soon. Visit our facebook page ‘Splat Action Paintball Park’ for ongoing updates about this event.

On a more serious note- I can't tell you how many times I've played at splat where they've said that and sure enough, paintballers are there on game day. This has almost always caused confusion and drama. (I remember at least 1 time where paintballers started shooting at airsofters.)

Don't get me wrong, I like playing there, I just don't care for dealing with all the paint/paintballers.

Did they every fix the problems with the buildings there?

There has been a slight change in the management of the scenario games being hosted by Splat Action. One of the stipulations requires the field to be clear of paintballers for airsoft games and of private groups or individuals who aren't participants in the games for all scenario games.

This is one point that I as the promoter of these games will not budge on. The upcoming airsoft game will be the acid test as to whether Splat Action can comply or not.

As to fixing the buildings can you be more specific? They are always working on the field and on the buildings. Currently they are augmenting the towers in one of the lower fields.

Glad to hear that.

As for the buildings, they were falling apart/in bad shape enough to the point of someone being injured in one at an AP event.

I know everyone says this but safety is a big deal with me. Nobody will come to a game where there is a possibility of being hurt due to inattentiveness or laxness and if they don't come to the games than I have to get a job flipping burgers. I'm lousy at flipping burgers!
I walk the field before every game and when I spot something that in my experience is a safety hazard I have it dealt with. That doesn't mean that this is a safe sport or that the occasional injury won't happen. What it does mean is that I do my best to see to it that the field free of unnecessary hazards to the players and staff.

That's more than a little uncalled for. You're not even old enough to have attended any AP event previously hosted at Splat Action, nor do you have any way of verifying whether or not there will be paintballers there. You're accusing them of wrongdoing without any grounds to do so.

Matt,
I would love to see you come out and play in this one!
For everyone else who is considering playing in this game, I need generals for both the night game and the all day game on Sunday. If you're interested please call me at 503-706-2923. I have a specific description of the game and briefings for each general for both days.
There is one change to the time when the field will be clear of paintballers on Saturday. Their time on the field will end at 3:00 pm which gives us 3+ hours to prepare the field for the night game. For those of you who are looking to camp and/or play in the night game, registration at the field will being at 3:30. For this event there is no preregistration. It's simply show up, pay and play.

Posting up game details is a good way to get commanders. I'd be interested in playing (not in a leadership role cause YOLO or something) since I haven't played Splat in ages.
