Field dealing with a field Jackass

Postby Aforbit » Mon Aug 12, 2013 9:01 am

Hello AP,

I bet you guys are most likey the best people to ask about this. We have all had to deal with jerks on the field... so we got a good one here. Keep in mind that the days I go on are open play days its mostly for noobs like my self untill you get invited to a team, join or make one. ( Teams can play on open field days but the most of the "Good" teams here look down uppon stream rolling a gaggle of noobs).

Here is the back story: We have a "Field Vet" down here in Florida He has been playing down here for a few weeks longer than I have and he already has the a bit of a rep as a talker, A real Type A peronality in his mid 20's ( I always a consiter my self as a type F peronality for Fabulous!! :P ). I am sure you know the type...always has a bigger and better story to tell ( we call him one-uper). Well he seems to know what he is doing, knows how to do squad rush,CQM (close quarters markssmenship ), understands basic tactics and runs a RS AK , but tends to be a real "Blue Falcon" (Buddy F**ker). When things go Charly Foxtrot ( as the often do in a heated game) he tends to be the first one to cast blame and normaly the first guy to be up and runing away "too out flank them" he says. As Support for our gaggle he likes to sweet talk me (yell) and tell me were I should be laying down fire (mostly what ever directshion he is running). I am not gonna lie to you I have FF bounised balled him a few times ya..know  . "If the officers are leading from in front, watch out for an attack from the rear."Sorry back to my main point I just wanted to give you guys a little background on what kind of person we are dealing with.

So this guy says he is from the Pac NW and played on tornament level in wasington state, Organ and N Cali Areas says he has played on all the fields blah blah balh... so he tells me/us people on his team that he used to play year round and him and his team (zomibe Infared) would play in the snow and cold weather.

Is that even possable ? I know snow is wet (duh..), cold and I know the cold weather plays hell with battery life. To me it sounds like a stupid idea.

Normally as a TSgt I would just dress him down and tell his dumb a$$ to fly right, but I am dealing with a Civ here and as a rule I have to represent my branch in a professional manner. (kind of hard not to my kit is all USAF ABU (urban fields)/ BDU ( Field). I have taken him aside and talked to him by him self but he just blows me off and keeps doing what he is doing. Most of the other guys refs and "teams" that play down here don't say much to him and mostly ingore him, but he already has a following of teenagers and younger 20 and 18 year olds following him around looking for advice.

Any ideas how I can shut this moron down?
There is no 'overkill.' There is only 'open fire' and 'I need to reload.

I'd say the guy doing the FF is the jackass. So the other guy is a loud mouth, a show boat. Airsoft is generally catered to alpha males which are usually the loud boisterous kind of characters. We have all kinds of personality traits in our community and some I personally don't care for. However I wouldn't randomly shoot them because I have differences with them. I'd either ignore them or just not go to games they attend. The choice is all mine to "ignore" them as I safely see fit.

But to purposely shoot him because he annoys you. That a character flaw in my book. That's the real problem.

Airsoft is a game of honor and safety.

all IMO / My two cents.

and yes we play in the snow and rain. Yeah temperatures affect battery life but that's why a lot of us use li-po's

What tournaments? I've never heard of any tournaments in Oregon or Washington. Haven't heard of his team either. Unless he's talking about paintball I have no clue what he means by "tournament level." You would think somebody here would have heard about that.

And yes, you can play Airsoft in the snow. Look in our galleries, we've had several games in the snow. It does cause issues with battery life, but it's not that bad. Most of all people tend to under dress for it and get too cold to continue playing, the batteries usually outlast the players. I've played some real fun games in snow, it's good times.

I Understand yeah FF is not cool and and it's a Jerk move... I'll try very hard to keep it safe and not do it. your two cents is accepted.

I will try Ignore him when is constantly bothering me for fire support to suit his own needs and not the teams. I guess I will just have to get used to it.

On a side note how does falling rain and show effect the flight of the BB's?

Do you get less range or do your shots stray one way or the other?

umm no tournaments in I think will just call him on it and see if I can find out more info from him. I afraid to give out his name on the internet I may be an FF'ing jerk but I am not out do any kind of real harm to the guy.

I have never played in the rain you would think it strange playing in Florida right? All of fields out here don't allow play in the rain do you the fact lightning is so prevalent out here in Mid/Southern Florida, hence indoor ranges are the big thing out here. Orlando has a really nice in door range if any of you guys end up down here let me know :D .
