Used Google Earth, GIMP2, and this http://openclipart.org/detail/100207 to make it.

placement of certain areas are wrong. if you want to do something like this, I will take my gps unit to pinpoint exact locations of certain areas and send you a google earth link to convert if you want.

small grids might be useful as well. you are covering alot of area with yours.

but looks good

I would love to see edition 2 if you guys get all the details close to dead on....and It would make a nice poster to go in my toy gun room.
When in doubt, empty the mag.

That would be awesome if you could give me the exact locations, I'd definitely like to make this map as accurate as possible.
As for the grid, yeah smaller would be better. I used 50 meters just because it is easy to measure and interpolate. What would be a better grid dimension? 10mx10m?
Also I'm not sure if the field borders are spot on.

If I remember on Sunday ill take GPS reading of the various areas. Your eastern boarder can go all the way to the east end of that orchard. North can go up a little more. South and west look pretty good.

Perhaps you could make the compass axis rotated counter-clockwise about 25 degrees so that the entrance road appears to be straight east/west. Another thing that would be super helpful to the player on the field is colored lines to designate the river and the road system.

This looks great! Well done.

Thanks Jester, I'll definitely update my borders and add in those roads and streams. Perhaps I'll even make a version of the map for when the orchards are out of play.

Maps pretty cool. The sandbag bunker to the east of the log fort is missing though.
