48 hr op

Postby NFS_Shadow » Sun Mar 11, 2012 12:51 am

This is going to be exactly what the title says, a op lasting 48hrs with multiple objectives and a few other twists.

This is not your traditional airsoft event in the sense that people will not always be shooting at you. The majority of your time will be locating and maneuvering from objectives and at the end will be a rebel camp to be assaulted and captured.

This will be open to actual airsoft teams only if your team is interested in participating please pm me, we need people to occupy/defend the rebel camp and people to assault the camp as well. This will be kept at a very low cost seeing as it will be hosted in national forest (currently looking up all info about this and once we get everything situated will contact forest service so that they know what will be happening so we don't stumble upon a concerned sheriff.) This is the perfect type of event for all you true airsofters and milsim fans out there and we are only accepting established airsoft teams so as to keep this as real as possible.

Again if you are interested please send me a private message with what team you are on how many people you have and also what side you'd prefer (military or rebels). I do not have a specific date yet but i can tell you that we are aiming for the end of july/early august. This will be a full weekend event with people arriving at a staging area friday and then we will send teams out to proper locations where the rebels will set up their camp and take defensive positions.

When i said 48 hrs i meant 48 hrs, we will be sleeping in the woods in full gear, sentries the whole shebang.

Dude quit trying to invent new games that nobody cares about and just attend the ones put together by the pros which already rock.

Why should I attend your 48 hour op? All I see right now is an overly long skirmish. Completely overnight games are difficult and require a lot of planning, because most airsofters can't be assed to care for that long. We need to care for it to be that long. Come back with a well-developed op. I don't mean a storyline. I mean a well planned game that will be entertaining to the players throughout, not what every other OP I've seen has been. If you don't even have a location set up, don't post it. You clearly have not thought out this game enough, nor have you clearly ever tried to run a game.

You might say, VogonFord, have you run a game before? I have. Once. I called it "N00b wars", I ran it poorly, but I never pretended that I was going to run it well. I wasn't asking people to devote their entire weekend off from work to it, either. Anyway, it was supposed to be stupid from the start. You don't have the reputation, you don't have the experience, and you don't have the know-how to run a 48 hour game. Be around here for longer and then you can try again. For now, leave this just as a thread. If you try to run this as a game, it'll be bad.

I sleep while wearing my glasses constantly I don't find it difficult. I do however realize the point your getting at and yes for some people this will be extremely difficult but there's not much i can do about that.

We did it at Tim's two day game. (Not 48 hours, think it was 24ish.)

To the OP: Doesn't sound like you have any details for your game. Not even a time or location, and only an idea of objectives. Also 48 hours would eat up three days out of a person's schedule, and you'd need a serious amount of gameplay to keep it good.

And I don't know about other airsofters but I'd get really lazy. Ok, I lied. I do know about other airsofters; they'd get really lazy.

I mean half the time free skirms end prematurely because Dairy Queen. Also, Tacos [Bell].

Yes airsofters getting bored will be to this OP what garlic is to vampires. If your interested though message me. As soon as i can nail down a specific date and get all the mumbo jumbo with the forrest service all figured out i will post all info. If nobody expresses interest this will still go as planned but if anybody wants to join us they are welcome.

You clearly didn't understand what I'm telling you. I'm not trying to flame you or bait you. I'm telling you don't do this op.. If you're posting with this kind of info, you don't know what it's like to run one. I wouldn't run it, nor would most of the airsofters I know. This sort of game requires planning outside of the scope you seem to be willing to do beforehand.

Host a number of simpler games first. Let us get to see your game style, how you run an OP, and if you're good enough to run a game this long. Then we'll think about showing up to your 48 hour game. I'm not telling you to quit airsoft. I'm telling you to run a lot of games first.

Anything more than a 4 hour OP is a lost cause. People here aren't willing do a 48 hour OP.

Also, doing a legit MilSim 24-48 hour OP has yet to be done. So far all I've seen were really damn long skirmishes. Like VogonFord said, yours doesn't seem any different.

Ok I understand what your saying but im still doing this. If fragistan decides they'd like to come you are all welcome. otherwise yes redtalon hopes to start hosting small events and so you'll get a chance to see how we run things, all in good time though.

russkie not trying to be a tool but mcnair earlier pointed out to me that there is a very good "longterm" milsim event.

Alright Bud, Listen to these guys. They know what theyre talking about. As a team, we need to be around a lot longer before we start throwing some big ole parties up in here. And theyre right. Airsofters are a buncha lazy f*cks. so lets do some small events first, then work our way up to a 24 hour event, with a break in the game for sleep. that way people cant be dicks and go corral people in their tents and shoot the shit out of them lol
Remember folks, It's all Bullshit.
