SB798 is amended again to allow paint ball and paintball still throw us under the bus and said yes.

SEC. 3. Section 53071.5 is added to the Government Code, to read:
53071.5 It is the intent of the Legislature to occupy the entire field of regulation of spot marker guns that expel a projectile larger than 16mm. No city, county, city and county, or other local government entity may enact or enforce any ordinance or resolution prohibiting or regulating the manufacture, sale, possession, or use of any spot marker gun which expels a projectile larger than 16mm.

The last council member I mailed about this isn't going to support it this time through because of all the legal grey areas it opens up. I expect the bill to do worse each time it is presented.

A lot of paintballers don't support the bill.

And I hope Junto is right, but you never know...

It might be time for a buying spree if it goes through.

Or time to move out of Walnut Creek... or stay there if you can find out if your county supports the bill if it goes through. Imagine that; you could leave a county where normally-painted airsoft guns are legal and get pulled over in another county for whatever reason and suddenly be in possession of illegal items.
