SB798...again

Postby code789 » Thu Jun 30, 2011 1:43 pm

SB798 is going to be resubmitted 7/5 which is sooner than expected
also yesterday the bill has been amended again

http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/pub/11-12/bil ... m_v95.html

it looks like de leon is going to get rid of state regulations and bring it down to a local level where people are going to be less aware of it
also SB798 looks like its going to include paintballers again

this also might include real steal firearms because the right to define imitation firearms is going to be given to the local government level instead of the state

this is a false statement and very alarmist.

well it sort of happened already
while the LA city tried to pass SB798 into city law before it made it to assembly
the vice president of the LA police committee stated that in order to pass SB798(before it was amended yesterday) they would also need to pass another law that would ban all fake-looking guns to be sold within the city at the very least.

i feel like i keep repeating my self over this or reading about it at least

Huh? How does "all fake-looking guns" have any impact on real steel? Note, by the way, that I have "steel" firearms and you "steal" yours.

Basically to defeat arguments that real guns have multiple color options they want to outlaw coloration of firearms. So like that "Dewalt" M4 that is out there, pink glocks, etc...make those illegal. Still doesn't change the fact that if you are dumb enough to point ANYTHING at a cop in a threatening manner he is going to shoot you. Personally I think it's stupid for a police officer to WANT to instill doubt in an officer's mind in a situation where he could be killed but, i'm sure for that desk jockey it will make it easier to throw the cop under the bus when an officer involved shooting happens.

No, no.

Video Games are considered to be an art, which is why they are protected by the first amendment. The Supreme Court came with the verdict that the ESRB already does a great job at maintaining standards.

Airsoft is a sport/hobby. It is also subject to criticism to many politicians and "Mothers Against..." because of what is involved.

Besides, California is the cesspool of controversial laws.

gun companies, and after market gun companies have been making anodiezed steel competition preformance parts for YEARS! bright colors.

they cant just make all those guns in that state Illegal.

i know. i was age 24 when i lived in No. Hollywood and those two fools tried to shoot it out with the No. Hollywood Police Dept.

the resulting BRADY BILL did not have the power to make all that stuff, like high cap mags and assault rifles Illegal in that state that already existed in private ownership.

and since the brady bill the state of CA. has not issued a CCW to a citizen up to this very day.

guess what, that failed bill has expired and the law has been revoked in that state.

no state will pass drastic changes to the gun laws. its in the second amendment.... that amendment doesnt give you ANY RIGHTS AT ALL

the 2nd amendment PREVENTS the government from passing any unconstitutional law that takes away your right to bear arms.

you need to understand this, before you ever bring up real steel in a airsoft argument.

so dont tell me about the peoples republic of california, or how it treats its citizens or its gun laws, because i was BORN in L.A. and raised.

i have seen it all.

all this bill will do is make airsoft exactly what it is... a kids game of

" i shot you!"

"no you didnt , I shot you first, call your hits fag!"

plain and simple.

Keep in mind that the 2nd Amendment has fuck-all-nothing to do with airsoft.

Heh, I'm not one to rub things in people faces, but the paintballers are going to be somewhat red-faced when they see this.

And it seems that the bill is now attempting to override the state gun control preemption. That means that they (the counties within California) can individually regulate real steel firearms.
