Imput on sigbar design

Postby Redmoney » Thu Sep 02, 2010 8:00 pm

I wanted to get peoples thoughts on my simplistic design. The team is a MFR/Royal Marine/Korps Mariniers joint strike team. So what do you think?

Eh, I would say find other editing software that does add that ugly watermark on it, that seriously looking like it could be done in paint.

I suck with paint, photoshop, and any other photo editing software. Which is why I chose the way I did.

At least the watermark is somewhat disguised.

That's partly why I went with the silver background

I'd keep away from using real-world symbols of real-world units (that EGA, mostly), unless you're doing reenactment, which is a totally different thing.

Make something cool up, that looks similar but is different, to set you apart.

I disagree. As long as you're not claiming to be those units, I don't think it would be a problem.

Let me rephrase: As long as you actually try to emulate those units, then go ahead. I just don't like seeing a bunch of kids in jeans and hoodies calling themselves Marines, or anything like that.

The only time you will see me(or any of my guys) on a field in jeans is on the ocasion of a PMC event. Otherwise full kits are required and they have to be done right. For instance all of my USMC gear is issue. Not because I want to fancy myself a Marine(I'm a Coastie poolie, just look at our CQB loadout to know that), but because if I am going to go on a field with an impression of a group such as the Marines, I'm going to make it look right. I have now hijacked my own thread so lets all stay on topic please.

Paint is a really easy program to use

Quite the same.

However, to one-up Nic, I offer you my Photoshop skills if you can send me a PM of exactly what you want. ;)
