Costume Contest, who's in?

Postby Matt » Tue Aug 24, 2010 2:57 pm

Halloween is just around the corner, folks! Next thing you know it'll be October 30th and you'll be wondering "What the hell am I going to be for Halloween?" Well, maybe I can help you make up your mind early by letting you know that AP is already planning our third annual costume contest.

Every year in the fall we put on what we like to call our Action Hero/Villain costume contest. AP members from all over the world submit their photos in Hero/Villain costumes including characters from; movies, video games, anime, graphic novels, TV shows, and history. The important rule - incorporate an Airsoft gun into your costume. From Gordon Freeman to Rambo to Gumby with a SAW, we've seen it all. The AP community takes an active part in determining the winner by voting for their favorite costumes.

Last year people said they wanted to enter but they didn't know we were having the contest again. We got word out late and some folks didn't have very much time to prepare. For that, I apologize. So here we are in August and I'm warning you all, in advance, that YES we are going to have this contest again. Official announcements will follow in September.

The AP Costume Contest shall live on! Hopefully bigger and better than ever with bigger and more fabulous prizes, and mo' betta costumes!

Yep. I'll have something decent this year. I'm sure I'll still lose to some chairsofting convention cosplayer with a bunch of friends though.

Not really, Hoff won last year. He's a local, and an Airsofter. Neil McCauley from Heat. Costume had nothing to do with Anime or Cosplay or anything. It was totally bad a$$! Just goes to show anybody who puts effort into a bad a$$ costume has a chance.

If I wasn't going to be in basic I would be, so i'll vote yes. The costume contests are awesome, best imo so far is when Duke Nukeum showed up.

I'm thinking Gordon Freeman. I have an mp7 and a crowbar, and my friend has the pistol. Got a labcoat, just need some nerd glasses....

The same number that do Metal Gear Solid and other costumes that implement putting on all the gear they normally wear to airsoft games.

Lots.

A lot-

How many of them will actually be decent at least and not just a 14 year old with a clear springer and a EBB ghost hoodie

Also, Cosmos came in 3rd place, he's also local and plays regularly. :D

Not sure if I'll do it again this year, we'll see.
