Farmer:
Thats exactly what came to mind when I read the initial idea. Great input.

Would players be interested in upgrading a weapon to godlike standards and being the "heavies" or "airsupport" for certain events? They wouldn't be allowed to play as regular players do; they would have to be "called in" and be only allowed for a certain amount of time throughout the game.(like CoD perks)

Something along the lines of a "boss" fight for certain events as well. The idea may sound cheesy to some but were attempting to look at all possible angles for making this experience "one of a kind".

I would be that guy. I think it would be amazing fun! Granted, should the "air support" NOT get called in, it would be sorta boring, but man what a rush to open up with dual M-60's to hose down the "bad guys" (what ever team DIDNT call me in)

I don't know about boss-battles, but I think the idea of being the player to deliver the airstrike/machine gun support would be fun for many people. It all sounds neat on paper. Still, I think the eminently more practical idea, and perhaps the one that will better withstand the tests of time, would be to plant one or two mounted weapons in a building that a group is supposed to attack and take. My $0.02. This is all looking pretty neat!

Maybe I shouldn't have said "Boss". I am thinking more along the lines of, during certain events, there will be essential "High Value Targets" the "good guys" will have to kill/capture and the "bad guys" have to defend. We will combine the fields during some of these events to make a massive warzone. The players will fight from one field to the next, but at the end of each field there is a "High Value Target". The H.V.T.s will have to be killed before the players can progress onto the next "phase/field". The H.V.T.s will have considerable defenses and massive firepower.

H.V.T. Players are chosen by us on their ability to play act well with assigned roles. Also during certain events, "costumes" will be taken into consideration. With the overall goal of having intimidating and "in-tune" players/actors to play the H.V.T.

During events we also want our field team to slip in and out to wreak havoc for both sides to cause brief hits of chaos to keep the others guessing. Players on the field will know when our team enters and when they leave the field.

We did that on our APC we used a LOW V. Worked well. Dual mounted 249's.

Also we will use Training Flashbangs as well.

Looks awesome. Thunder Bs would probably work best for flashbangs. Their reasonably cheap too.

I think boss battles would be more effective though. A boss would be able to move around and pose much more of a challenge. Airstrike/machine gun support would be tough. A machine gun would be stationary most likely and people would just take cover until it's time ran out. Airstrike could be done but there's not much you can do besides having an admin going to a group and saying "bang you are all dead" ya know what I mean?

What about FPS and BB weight regulations?

I personally think for CQB it should be 350 FPS with .2s, gas and spring guns having no minimum engagement, AEGs having 10-15 feet engagement? And for field the guns should max maybe 400 FPS with a minimum engagement distance? Then 500 limit for snipers with a much higher minimum engagement distance? And at under 10-15 feet he who calls "bang bang" first is out unless hit with a bb for a gas pistol or springer?

I'm suprised no-one has mentioned rules yet. Haha

Then limit .2s to CQB and allow field players to use their desired size, but of course force them to chrono with .2s?

EDIT - I'd also like to add that in my two years of airsoft, never have I been a sore player. I'm 15 right now, and I don't gloat or even yell in matches unless if it's needed. Ask me and my 14 year old buddy, we managed to stay hidden for two hours in the sun and pouring rain(damn Washington weather) from the enemy(who was hunting us), mostly be using hand signals and very quiet whispering. Not all of us you folk are bad. :) I just wish that I could get a job so I can start affording VFC's and CAs.

ALSO, I might be able to donate a couple small random things, a couple oil barrels, a random plastic....water storage tube? and we have lots of scrap wood and some sheet metal. We understand that it's nothing big, but anything helps. If we do donate them maybe I could ask for a months admission card? ;)

OH I LOVE your prices by the way. Make this happen and you will get tons of sales from my area, I promise. If it's a good course, as soon as I can get a job and afford it I will get a years pass.

People can use whatever weight bb they want. As long as they chrono within their limits. Follow the AP model for FPS, it works just fine. CQC no min range, as the very nature of CQC means very close shooting. It sucks, but so doesn't having to call a safety kill when you can just put 1 round into the plate carrier much quicker when coming around a corner.

Look into jules/fps charts for your games. Also I'd be wary of allowing co2 gas pistols. They shoot hotter with a full gas canister.(people can skate on chrono by using a canister that has less gas in it)

Nark:
Very neat Airsoft video. We have multiple ideas for how we could have an "air-strike" be, but just depends on what we're allowed to get away with. I will fight for the best things, I refuse to have that "boom, you guys are dead" that you refer to. If it is an Airstrike there has to be a simulated explosion, same with artillery etc. If not then we look like assholes. :)

Stealth:
Thank you for the suggestion on flashbangs.

Spitfire:
I am glad you are thrilled about the park. It is good to hear that there is support in Lewis County. As for rules, we have not yet discussed them in-depth in detail. Currently we are still working out the "kinks" in the field so we have the best plausible estimate for a start-up cost. Yesterday I received a "ok" quote for conexs so we are moving along(at a crawl) with this business plan.

Also posting prices that early was a mistake on my part. Please don't get overly excited about what I posted about prices. I want an affordable experience, but have to understand we need to stay open and turn a profit. I will not metaphorically rape anyones wallet though.

Jester:
We will have different sizes of BB's, but everyone will need to purchase our Bio Field BB's. We are predicting field ammo only(this is not concrete).

Catch22:
I have noticed quite a few fields don't allow Co2 gas pistols, not just NW but nationally. You guys run an outstanding forum, from the class of people to the information that is readily available. We've glanced at a jules/fps chart but we are not in that stage of the plan yet.

Just a reminder, this plan is still pre-mature. We are hoping to having everything said and done, and open for business next summer.

Thanks again for the continued support,
Chad

Chad, by asking for and taking suggestions, even if they get modified in the process, from the "local" airsofters, you will become if not a favored, then a good place to play in many eyes. The prices may not make all of us happy, but by us seeing your basic costs from this thread most of your local players will understand why they end up bieng what they are.

Thank you for allowing us to have input in the creation of your business. You have addressed almost every person in responses and have been very forward about what you are thinking for design and play. I am looking forward to your field opening and will try to get the opening weekend off, whenever it may be, to spend the inaugrial weekend playing at the new field.

I think they have them at Airsoft Outlet NW, but I'm not 100% sure. It would probably be cheaper to buy them in bulk/wholesale from a website such as eHobby Asia.

Farmer: Thanks for the support. We want to develop a solid community with and amongst our players. We believe this sport is an extremely healthy vice and hobby, as well contains very admirable characteristics that can transfer over into the real world. So, developing a strong, healthy positive environment and community is essential and we like doing it as well.

Stealth: Thank you for the information on flashbangs.

** There has been a major change with the aspect of the field. Due to the location of the readily available and foreseeable land we are changing our premise from outdoor airsoft to indoor airsoft. Either the cost or location is conflicting with our needs so at this time we cannot pursue our outdoor airsoft vision. This is also due to demographics of local county and cities, which has the potential to restrict our cash flow. It also restricts our "pool" of initial employment candidates.

So our figures have changed, but we will continue to overcome and accomplish. It will only be indoor instead of outdoor. We have bigger plans than just one indoor facility but initially it will be our route towards success.

As for older more "serious" airsofters, I understand most indoors could accompany the label of lazer tag. We assure you, MilSim and 18+ airsofts will be taken care of. Airsoft has different play styles and we will and want to cater to all of them.

Keep the input coming, we want to know what all the players think.

Thanks again,
Chad
