The sad thing is, I understand their position.

Discuss anything and everything here that's Airsoft related.

I see more and more people showing up to "operations" (mostly glorified skirmishes these days if you ask me) without reading the game info. Then they just run around and ignore orders from the CO and tell me to "f**k off" when I ask them to help me take a position. A poor attitude is what will slowly degrade this community down.

I think we should all continue to have fun at games only we should practice a little more discipline. As in cleaning up ALL our trash, listening to admins and team CO's, welcoming the new people correctly and politely.
It's an individual effort. The people of this community (not event promoters) decide the quality of our games/events and our forums. Act like a fucktard and we'll have fucktarded games. Be open to some new ideas and we'll have some good/creative games (like Fallout, CQC7, Santas War.)

One thing i would like to note:

Everyone keeps saying all that stuff about all the "Bad" stuff being in Off Topic.

MAYBE.. JUST MAYBE, the person created an AP account, looked in Off topic. and blam, saw juice machine in a mini skirt.

shazaam, maybe the FBI is on its way to KABARs house now.

Sucks that your Venue got denied, but we do have access to other fields like Ivan Stated.

But i have a feeling his idea was to get a brand new area that no one has used before.

Which i would pay 60$ to be on.

Perhaps I'm desensitized but as I skim the 'new posts' I don't really think of anything as that bad. Theres a discussion on a birthday party set up for some 90 year old guy, along with ehobbys posting on a clear 5-7. With the exception of candid pics I'm not really even sure what is so wrong that we couldn't pay to use someones land when we had waivers and other coverage.

He made airsoft work, not fun. He threw fits when we lost, he bragged incessantly when we won, and he made the game about winning, not about the game itself. This sort of super-serious attitude is what makes people quit, and if this forum starts becoming as anal as he was, it just won't be any fun anymore.

That was a personal issue between you and him.

i feel that well over half of the demographic that we are speaking of is all of the emo youth that we "ALLOW" to participate in this community.

want milsim, guess what, 18 or over. PERIOD.
the army does not recruit 13-17 year olds for service. if you have a milsim game and you allow 13-17 year olds, you just pushed your OP into the skirm factor.

i have been saying this for years. and ever since i have started saying it, i have over the last three years watched this community fall into complete shit.

you are not allowed to own a replica under the age of 18. its the law. yet we seem to think its okay to let these unstable and sometimes mentally retarded people into our community.

and the sad fact is, its alot of the promoters faults. could you imagine how hard the promoters will cry when almost 1/2 of thier customer base is yanked out from under them.

i honestly think that the promoters could give a rats a$$ about your "Play experience" or"milsim". what it boild down to is dollars. and the little kids get thier parents to foot the bill, so the promoters are happy to take that cash, because kids will go to any game at any location, as long as its labled a OP. then once they get there, its really just a skirm.

bigfoot pretty much nailed it on the head, i thought i would just drive it home for ya.

Morgan, you aren't talking about this community bro. You are talking about this entire hobby. Teenagers are marketed to. Look at some of the retail sites out there. Look who they are selling to. The parents may be using the credit card but the teenager is the target audience.

And it's been said again and again that the problem does not lie with minors alone. Coming from you that's laughable. When people say, "Some adults act immature as well," one of those adults they are talking about is you.

The percieved problem with the boards isn't the fault of the under 18 crowd alone. We all have our tard moments. These boards aren't going to be turned into an adult only website.

As for age limits at games. There are some skirms with an 18+ age limits. I wouldn't mind having some Ops with a 17+ or 18+ age limit. But I wouldn't want every game like that. I would rather the community help the kids find safe, fun places to play. Instead or turning their backs to them.

Instead of pointing fingers y'all, look in the mirror. As far as I'm concerned almost everyone in this thread has made at least one good point. To take a line from The Road to Perdition: "This is the life we chose, the life we lead. And there is only one guarantee: none of us will see heaven."

I have a full trash bin of personal attacks and off topic pissing matches that were deleted from threads and they're posted by people anywhere from 15 to 50 years old. It's quite evident that the attitude problems on this board are not restricted to any specific age range. I wouldn't expect everyone else to understand, because you aren't looking at the data.

Like it or not, that next generation is the next generation of Airsofters. Or, even worse news for you, the next generation of our military. So you can ignore them and pretend they aren't there but they will still be there. I would have to agree with Kevin, they need a safe place to play and they need to be told how to do it right so they aren't running around in the streets of Beaverton with Airsoft guns.

There are also some younglings out there that do it right. From what I personally have seen in games, Juicemachine and Ollie are a couple kids who, for the most part, act like mature adults on the field. I mean if we want to get really picky about it, they do break up milsim stuff because they're munchkins. :D

But my point is, while more of a certain age group may be gibbering immature retards than another age group, it would be sucky to bar the awesome players from games for the sake of avoiding the idiotic players.

In my mind, perhaps the best solution would be to try to design ops that would appeal more to the hardcore milsim / LARP crowd, and less to the Call of Duty / Battlefield 2 crowd.

Gents

Let me give you an outsiders perspective as far as AP goes.

First of all don't knock yourself too hard. I'm in California but this is my favorite airsoft forum. In general I find you all to be a good bunch of guys. Of course I see disagreements from time to time and that's not a bad thing as long as it's kept civil. Better to hash it out here then on the field. Rarely do I see personal attacks or have arguments degenerate into flame wars. That's a big plus IMO.

I feel a lot of this is due to Matt's leadership in running this forum. He sets a good tone and rules the forum with good common sense and a cool head when things get hot.

As for issues about poor conduct on the field, there are ways to resolve this. I will post this as a separate topic later.

I also know that there are a lot of teenagers on here as well. But compared to some other site, a great majority of them don't run around like a bunch of immature morons or act like know it alls (which I see frequently on other forums).

As for gay stuff I haven't really seen any. Although I don't know what this guy was doing at an OP.

Okay, that was just an attempt to lighten the mood. (Delete if you wish Matt). This photo was taken in Afghanistan. An FOB came under attack by the Taliban. The guy was asleep when it started and rushed directly to his post.
