Realism. Get some layouts from actual buildings and try to copy those.

Lots of rooms with many weird angles and "Hidey" holes to mix it up. At least a window into every room without glass so that sniper initiated entry's can be done. Doors so that "breaching " can be simulated. Take a look at websites from places like Thunder Ranch or Gunsite and you can get some cool ideas. Many of those places have modular walls in their live fire facilities to keep it new and prevent familiarity. A solid perimeter wall and mod interior walls. What is your budget?

The problem with putting doors on alot of rooms, is that people will kick them open. In a short time you will have alot of busted doors.

Deffinitely look at some real building plans. As far as door kicking goes, install some heavy duty hinges, as well as some sort of light metal plating on the door where the usual "kicking" places are. Rig up a sort of spring action for the door so it will close. Or even better install a set of powerful magnets on the door and door jam so it will act like a latch that would close, yet could be kicked open with no damage to the door. Just a thought anyways.

Make it seem like a realistic house/village. None of the speedball crap.

As far as swinging doors, that velcro idea seems pretty damn good.

The problem with doors is, and I've seen this first hand, players start to think they are clever and pile stuff up in front of them, or try to hold it closed to stop others from getting through.

See the potential for injury and destruction of property here?

1 how many rooms?
About 4 or 5 plus some closets and some sort of structure outside of the house(fence, shack, gazebo, ect.)

2 more or less windows?
I will say more but make sure you have different sizes like living room often have big windows while bathrooms have smaller ones. But avoid having too small of windows. On that note avoid having too small of any whole to which someone could stick there gun through and have a small fraction on their head showing.

3 Props?
Double yes just make sure its safe and try to throw some character in them if you can.

4 doors?
I would avoid having too many swinging doors as I have made some noses bleed from kicking in some doors when some idiot decides to hide behind it. Just have doors for the main entrances to the house.

5 door sizes?
I say extra wide for any with an actual door and not just an opening.

How many buildings are you planing on making?
I recommend having different buildings. Houses, stores, bars, shacks, auto shops, playground. And even those that are the same type make them a little different from each other. I also think it would be nice to see some interesting vehicles broken door cars and vans are nice but if you can it would be nice to see something like a roach-couch, bus, tractor ect.

Great to hear about the improvements I look forward to seeing it in action.

Here's my input, take what you want.

You can make doors with removable blocks that you just nail in with temporary blocks connected to the hinges, so you can kick open doors, and it'll break off the hinges, but all you replace is the wooden block the hinge is connected to (and the hinge if it's not a sturdy one). You can also take off these doors and only use them for special events.

I would put enough furniture and things inside to make it realistic, but not the type of shin-high or below-the-waist things that would cause injury or at least piss people off. Tonka is a subject matter expert on this and other construction stuff, as he used to tell people to build things.

I would have windows and make it realistic like real houses, with windows to the outside.

Another idea would be to make it into an Afghan style village, with a central market place and a few walled compounds on the edge. For the market place in the middle, you can save money on wood by making a lot of bazaar stands and maybe a fake well in the center, or center square with packed earth. You can use a lot of stuff from dumps to fill the bazaars and make it realistic. The smaller stuff you put there will make more cleanup after each event.

Another thing to think about is zoning. I don't want another airsoft field shut down due to construction and safety zoning stuff. If you talk to Eurodus he is much more familiar with these rules than I.

I'd love a "village" setting for cqc. What Dan had going at CAGE before it went tits up was pretty ideal IMHO.

Will the buildings be secured into the ground? I ask because I usually lean hard into walls when doing CQC stuffs.

what do you mean? Like a race track around the rooms

This is not indoors just so you know. It is like rolling through an alley way and having buildings all around you

never mind then, i meant like a way to get around the place without having to go through all the rooms.

Wow, when I heard The Farm was building structures I wasn't expecting all this. Awesome stuff Chesty. :D

Multiple structures with a village vibe...surrounding a central area that could be a point of interest.

If you have the materials to also support building a large structure (1000 sq ft is large to me) than I'll vote large room at front and back with 2 or maybe 3 small rooms between them. Few token props. No windows or doors.

Whatever you do will be an awesome addition! :D

Don't forget about the helicopter landing pad, the bowling alley, and the extra large master bathroom with dual sinks. A big kitchen with an island is always nice too.
