How adventurous are you when it comes to food at an event?

Discuss anything and everything here that's Airsoft related.

Why don't you guys do food cart style food like here in Portland? Make food carts and decorate them so they look authentic and sell w/ just a couple of authentic dishes so it be faster. Some of the best! food comes from the carts, I love eating from them for lunch and its always cheap, usually around 5 bucks for a whopping portion of food.

Thats a good idea. Grilling Kebabs is pretty easy.

I'd love real noms at a game to make it more "in-depth". I usually don't eat hotdogs or hamburgers at games since they give me a stomach ache :(.

Eating the night before is fine, but everytime I eat hamburgers or hotdogs during the lunch break I feel like there's a chestbuster in my large intestine.

Yes. Yes it is. South-Central America *nods*

Last time I checked, Tacos were considered Mexican cuisine, and Mexico is in 'Central America', and San Theodoros is somewhere south of the Rio Grande border..... ;)

We're running an airsoft game, not a restaurant. We're just looking at some of the options to keep things cost-effective, and 'semi-authentic' to help people 'experience country X'

Try feeding me Tacos as a South American dish and you'll get a nice loud FU out of me .
I'm South American , from Argentina , and we don't have tacos there.

Authentic food is a great idea , when i go to Blank Fire events we eat on the field and on barracks the same food a German , Italian or Allied soldier of the time had to eat.
For Vietnam events i also like to eat period correct food.

When i did my Jungle Warfare training we had to eat whatever we could catch , from insects to snakes and other animals , Nutrias are the best by far.

I'm adventurous to all types of food. If more events had different types of food it would be awesome, because then you didn't have to stick to eating 8 wieners.

Manicotti isn't a milsim event.

It is an Indiana Jones style adventure.

The food is served at a Cantina in a town where you are looking to collect information to further your travels, and is a no-shoot area.

By semi-authentic, it implies that the food is close enough to give you the FEEL of the place without actually having to spend much money.

When most Americans think of Central America, they think of Mexican food.

Is it accurate? No. Is it accurate enough to help people feel that they are in a foreign land looking for long lost treasures in a B-movie? Hell yes.

I've found that how adventurous I am with new foods shares a direct correlation to how hungry I am. In other words, feed me after an entire day of humping fifty pounds of shit around through the woods and I'll probably eat anything you put in front of me with a smile on my face.

Yes, including cocks.

Exactly! Mini gets 10000 internets!

Thanks for your input everyone. Before you put away your Fedora, know that I'm working on ideas for Manicotti III....

As some one that has rather restrictive food allergies, I tend to avoid food that I do not prepare myself or know that it is not going to risk my health.
Shooting and Photography are alike, everyone will tell you how awesome they are. Few people are that good at either.

The Muji's did this at end o' lies. Typically, I am not very adventurous with food , but I jumped in and had some. I was pleasantly surprised. I'd say go for the exotic stuff ( within reason) please no monkey brains.... The hot dog / burgers are fine, and that stuff can be had at most ops. I think the indigenous fare would be a nice touch to your op.
