Airsoft Etiquette (Long Winded Hit Calling Question)

Discuss anything and everything here that's Airsoft related.

I call my hit when I feel it hit or hear it hit my gear, If i am in serious doubt I just call myself out. If I don't I don't. I am an honest player, I don't care much about winning that's why I am iffy about tournaments of any kind.

Do you call it if you hear it hit your vest?

Occasionally, I'll call myself out if I haven't been hit but know that I should be. If I'm behind some concealment like a bush, and a guy rattles 20 or 30 rounds into that bush, and the only reason I haven't been struck yet is by dumb luck and the branches being just so that they're deflecting the BBs, I'll call that. I'd much rather be too liberal with my hit calling than too conservative.

If I was hiding behind a bush and not getting hit, my first thought would be to take the chance and shoot back. That way if you get hit you are legitimately hit. But, if the shooter is constantly spraying the bush and you don't have the opportunity to shoot back, then just call the hit. The fact that a bush can provide cover from BB's is just the nature of our game since we are shooting plastic BB's.

This one time, in a land far far away. I was playing airsoft at a christmas tree farm..
anyways. I got into a heavy firefight with this guy named Broc. we ended up shooting at each other from the opposite sided of a christmas tree ( about 4 feet away). He got all upset and was screeming and yelling at me that he was absolutely positive that he shot me all up in the face. His rounds all hit my gun and ricochet off. So I asked him "if you shot me in the face from 4 feet away in my face, would I not have red welts all over my face?" I didnt have a single mark on my face There were witnesses there that could coroberate this story.

The moral of the story is... call your own hits. BBs do weird things, especially when shooting through trees and shrubs, etc..

although I did have an incident this weekend where I called someones hit, but I was point blank about 3-5 feet away and clearly shot him in the chest (with my pistol). and to verify I shot a second round into his leg. :) He "didnt feel it"

I generally will not call hits(on others). I just maneuver closer and aim a bit higher ;)

I generally call my hits even if I'm not compleatly sure about it....

But if there is a buffoon across the field screaming "call your hit D****bag!!" I may not be so obliging...

And has anyone ever seen someone on your team get lit up and they don't call it? Several people have said they don't call others hits but sometimes.... people just suck...

Point blank for an M4 is 300 yards, btw. Yes, I know it's airsoft. Just saying, point blank can go all the way out to a couple 1000 yards if you have the right bullet.

I call my hits if I hear them hit my gear, me, and sometimes my gun. If someone doesn't call their hits, I aim for their mid-body area. That is usually successful in eliciting a response.

sure, I have seen several people get lit up and not take the hit. I don't tell them to take the hit, cause it is not my place. If they want to cheat then they can just keep getting shot till they call it.

If I'm behind a tiny little bush and it's getting lit up, I'll take the hit. I know I'll be dead if I move, and I should be dead anyway, so I just go on out.

As for team members, if I see a team member not call their hit, I tell them. They might not have felt it, in which case I'm doing them a favor. If they were deliberately cheating, however, I tell them about it, and if I see it keep happening I talk to an admin, and to my team leadership.

Read my son... And he's not talking about the effective range of a weapon, but from too close to miss... "point blank". ;)

If you're going to go to war against a major enemy, go; knock the hell out of him fast, and go in there to kill him and get it over with.

I don't call others hits. If you were behind a bush and my shots were being deflected I will justly in a volume of fire until you "yell" out hit and raise your hands so I can see you are hit rather than trying to hear it over the pissedmof sewing machine next to my ear.

If yer not hit cool, but don't complain I shot you to much if I do hit you. I get a lot of " IM FUCKIN HIT!!!!!" on the field. But if you say it loud and raise your arms without a weapon the incoming fire stops. If I'm lobbing bbs 10 feet in front of you then I am just wasting my bbs and you shouldn't care.

Oh BTW I also shoot anyone without a death rag or there hands up or on top of there head, to many douchbags act as if there out and walking to the dead pool in order to get a good shot at you and then rail you. If yer walking to the spawn for real and don't have death rag then you are asking me to shoot you until you call hit, bithching that yer dead is moot.
