But, it seems kind of fishy or something. I mean, why not release them? Are you really worried about upsetting the Muslims by releasing the pictures? Are you protecting our fragile little minds from the gruesome picutres? Look what they did with Saddam....They had all kinds of video of his capture and even his death. But for OBL we get nothing other than an announcement that we got him, oh and his DNA was tested.

The Iraqi government released the official videotape of Saddam's execution, but I agree with you about the precident. America has a history of releasing photos of gunned down public enemies going back to famous mobsters. The only difference is sensitivity to Muslim culture because we still have men in harms way.

Yeah, I hear you guys, and understand it completely. Plus, these pictures and/or footage will be leaked out eventually anyways, and that may be the plan or not. Now if it is around election time, I'm sure people will speculate. Still, even then, I'm sure there will be lots of people calling the pics or videos fake anyways. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. I guess we are just taking the "we don't want to stoop to their level" approach with this one. Can't you see it now though? Election signs that read "Vote for Obama. He killed Osama!"

It has already started. Rueters has "purchased" pictures from inside the compound that show three other men shot/killed/dead, but no OBL picture yet. One even has what our future airsoft guns will look like, a bright neon orange and yellow squirt gun next to his shoulder. Wow, leaks are fast these days!
