Sorry for the late response but yes I am the media and have been for more than 6 years.

Think of it this way. You've got a couple hundred acres of pristine wilderness that would be perfect for a little community of rich bastards who will pay the better part of a million dollars for the feeling of being in the woods, even though they wouldn't know what to do with a hiking trail if it bit them three times on the nose.

Trouble is, there's some neighbors who party ALL NIGHT, and run around SHOOTING EACHOTHER. You'd never sell a single house if the day of an open house, some KID shot out someones window. So, file a complaint with the county and get it shut down. Simple.

Just wondering. Conspiracy theory, as it were.

Thanks for the thought sleepy, but that is not the case. As far as I have been able to find out from the county is that one person, one time bitched and that's all it took. I tried to go through mediation but the person didn't leave their name to be contacted.

Point taken. But I don't think you get mine. There IS a positive side to Men roaming the bushes with toys. Yes the public and MAINSTREAM media might not get but I do!. That's why i brainstormed the suggestion. Maybe someone else outside the airsoft elite that might have, just might have taken an interest. Now I'm saying just maybe now. There are thousands if not hundreds of thousands of sources of public media now withe the internet. Making the story available to any sort of media outlet would have course been the final desperate act. A hail marey so to speak. Your right the media can spin it any way they(you) want. just thought you my convince someone to listen is all. Don't be so defensive, relax and think positive.

Not getting on your case or being negative, but last year when the ARMY hosted an event at ABT I contacted all the local tv stations and newspapers. The only reply I got was from the Columbian newspaper and they wanted to put a very BAD twist about kids, adults and the airspoft sport. I ended up calling the reporter and told him the event had been cancelled to keep him from coming out. So as far as our local media goes, it's a bust. I do appreciate the idea of trying to get support from the media and DO wish it could happen. But just don't see it happening anytime soon. Thanks again.

Sorry to hear about ABT. I was just trying to get my Son and a couple of his friends out there to learn to play but not sure what to do now? Anybody have any ideas where I can take 3 or 4 13 yr olds to practice besides Hillsboro? Thanks.

Check the events calendar.
You'll see plenty of 15+ or other limits, but much of the listing is 13+...

PSC does a line of free skirms in Silverton. We are currently planning our next one, so, look for it in the events thread.
