LionClaws OP TradeWinds in August

Postby EagleDriver » Sat Feb 25, 2012 11:08 pm

Looks like John Lu is trying to secure an AO in the PacNW for a LionClaws game--so location is not yet known. I am not currently traveling for work but that will pick up in July, so if this game gets the green light I will try to move my schedule around to attend. I have been to a few LionClaws games and am going to the new "Red Storm East" in PA (CQB type event.) I would love to do a big MILSIM game out there and I imagine there wouldn't be a shortage of players either.

I think it is going to be good, it will as be a good way to get some more national exposure to AP the north west. When SOTA goes to LC XI in May we will probly get more info, and make connections with our national teams.

Well I am glad you guys know where it will be - John Lu just told me he is considering several locations when I saw him at SHOT show for a brief moment (that man has tons of people always coming up to talk with him.) Will PDX be the closest commercial airport to the AO?

If this becomes a yearly thing, I might go next year. The things I've heard about the non-"Tier 1" LC events make me hesitant to drop $150+ for a glorified skirmish.

Next time I see you, let me tell you about Route 66. I won't be going to this game because I know it will be overpriced and I already gave him $180 for a really crap game. I will never attend a Tier 2 event again but I would be willing to do the actual LC event or Irene.

I would happily pay $35 or $45 even $60 for a weekend long game that borders between cool and a glorified skirm but when it tips over a $100+, then I really can't justify the spendature when I have already experianced a sub par performance from him that was very expensive.

my 2 cents. My opinion

Isn't Phantom Fury planning hosting a event there as well? Personally, I'm more excited for that.

If I'm not mistaken, that will be the final OP: Sundown event. It's going to be major, me thinks.

Call the surgeons and tell them to take the day off, because I'll be doing all the operating now.

There's a point where this needs to stop, and we've clearly passed it

From what I hear airsoft at Rilea isn't that great. The wind makes it really bad and the buildings and the layout make it tough on advancement (so I was told)

plus weather at the beach is always unpredictable however I would give it a shot if the price was right

I think the PF event at Camp Rilea was said to be in May, Atleast what it said on OP: Sundown 2 page.

I want to say early summer 2013, or maybe even super late summer 2012. Sometime then, or early 2013.

That's just a guess.

I've been to Rilea twice. The wind is pretty omnipresent, but while fighting in the MOUT area most of your shooting is so short range it doesn't matter. Weather aside, its a hoot to fight there. Very different from the normal AOs we play.
