I am new, and am looking for AEG's and GBB pistols. I have a budget of $180.
Thanks

So there are a few things that you should include/consider.

- What style do you like (AR15, AK47, ect.)
- Where will you play or you think you will play mostly. It kind of depends on what airsoft arena is closer to you. ( CQB also known as close quarter combat like Thunder Kiss in Vancouver, or out in a place where you want to shoot far like Sniperzden)
- Also is your budget for the AEG only or is that including the pistol?

To get you started looking here are a few brands that I like and I have heard good things about them:
Lancer Tactical
G&G
Elite Force

These brands are just some that I like, others will have their favorites. This should get you started and hope to see you on the battlefield sometime.

In that price range I'm impressed with the Valkens. They also have one of the best warranties that is 1 year.

What age group is the person that's going to have the gun? G&G is built well and last.

So with a hiatus of nearly 5 years I have learned an acquired taste in replicas.

I have owned just about 5 different airsoft guns, and among them all I think the full-size AKs are a great fit for me, same with the SVD.

An average CYMA was an alright buy new and used back in 2020, but now the regular sub $200 ones on evike and other retailers don't exactly compare in longevity to the one's cyma makes with the platinum internals, and even then I'd probably much rather go for literally any other brand (with the exception of double bell, APS, well/wellpro, Crosman, and everyone else whom I'd be surprised seeing they start making AKs out of the blue).

AK47 - not a bad choice, but it's not a replica known for having exactly that many manufacturers putting decent parts inside, but maybe I haven't looked far enough to want an AK47.
AKM - pretty standard choice, but that's not to say it's bad at all, I just prefer the full stock version over the underfolder.
AK74/AK74M - honestly the best overall choice before getting to the much more modernized AK100 series that have become oh so popular as of late, mags fit better into the same pouches M4 mags go into (albeit not without some trouble).
AKS-74 - Lighter, but not as popular of the lot (at least in the airsoft community I've been hanging around on Discord), I don't trust it too much, but I trust it more than the other types of AK replicas on the market today (such as Hungarian/Romanian AK replicas).

As for internals, all I need is metal, well designed internals, and a decent mosfet, anything else and it's pushing my wallet haha.

That's all for now, Godspeed.
