My name is Tye, founder of the brand new concept, the Objective Box. For the past 3 years we have developed the world’s first complete iOS app that can fully manage an airsoft game from start to finish. Using different audio effects, the app signals game start, end, time remaining and coordinates an entire mission enhancing game play with ease. The Objective Box eliminates the need for people to act as game coordinators allowing the smallest group to be able to run a multitude of fully functional, coordinated missions and objectives. This app is so reliable that it can be used for full blown operations if desired.

The Objective Box app is now available on iTunes and features three unique mission modes: Timed Mission, Capture Mission and Rush Mission. Each mission type allows the user to customize many options to run different scenarios. We will also be releasing other mission modes in the future which will expand game type options for players.

Image

Not only do we offer players a great app to run their op, but we have developed a playable objective that amplifies the audio from the app, allowing everyone to be able to hear what is happening on the field of battle. It also aides in protecting your device while in use. The best thing about is that we show the community how to build this simple, inexpensive device! This is the what the Objective Box is about and it will forever change the way we war game.

I encourage you to take a look at our website as it will explain everything in better detail. Please visit http://www.objectivebox.com. Feel free to post any questions you may have about this app and product as we are happy to help.

Have a great day!

I've watched the video and read through a bit of it, and I can say I'm not enthusiastic about this idea.

It seems unlikely (to me, at least) that most event hosts would put one of their expensive phones in the middle of the wilderness in a box. Asides from that, the "protective aide" box seems a bit... clunky and not that much other than a tool box with foam on the inside and a phone shaped cutout. As most Oregonians know, it can get quite wet and to be honest I don't see much stopping water from filling up the compartment.

You also say that you show how to build the device when in actuality it's just an assembly kit with audio jack amplifiers. It seems as simple as the name implIes, a box, and while it might add more realism than a regular amplifier, I wish it was modeled a bit more situational; an actual bomb shaped bomb is more adrenalin pumping than a box shape. I also wonder why things are not pre-cut and fit, maybe to lower costs.

But who knows, I've been on the field less than a year. Maybe this is the revolution of airsoft and I'm just bring pessimistic.

Thanks Tye, cool idea.

The standard toolbox is a great idea. Readily available, lightweight, doesn't look like a real bomb (one less thing a cop might shoot you for, especially if your 15) and cheap. Props get expensive fast, particularly when your paying for them, not your parents.

As far as water penetration, adding a plastic window over your phone would fix that.

Everything you need, (other than phone) can be obtained at any hardware store, smart.

Thanks for checking out the website! You don't have to use a expensive phone to run the Objective Box app. It will run on a cheap 4th Gen iPod touch or even an iPhone 4 if need be. I think I have seen used iPhone 4's for sale for $30 once the 6's came out. This app is a stand alone application that is not web based so you do not need to have service for your device. We designed it that way since a lot of fields have poor to little data coverage.

Our design for the Objective Box it more of a neural design for a robust playable experience, however you can build it the way YOU see fit. If you want it to be a bomb, build it like a bomb. Like this thing:

That was some foam padding and a roll of packing tape and took less than $20 to build. There is a little portable speaker packed in there too! What ever you want, you can build it!

ClownBaby,

Thanks for comments! We totally agree with placing your device in a waterproof case and there are tons of options available.

I think you got it, we designed the software, you build the hardware that works best for you and most items can be picked up locally at a hardware store! Simple and easy.

Thank you! We put a lot of focus on this for the players to have a great in-game experience. We are working on complying some real life footage with the Objective Box in use. Stay tuned!
