Trying to get my friends to come to a skirmish

Postby Kenneth » Wed Feb 19, 2014 1:06 am

Me and a few of my friends are relatively new to airsoft. Ive played it for about 4 years id say but they just started this summer. Ive talked about going to a skirmish but none of them want to because they see all the players with the "tacticool" gear and beast a$$ guns and they think a. people will shit talk them for not having good enough gear b. will get shit on because they don't have good enough gear. We all of alright starter guns. Echo 1's and g&g's. Im just trying to convince them that you're a friendly crowd all though you can look menacing.

As long as they have the min gear (eye pro, water, good boots and a deathrag) IDGAF how someone looks on the field.

If it's a more serious game, maybe. For skirmishes, who bleeding cares what your kit is. You're out to pew pew.

Try to get them to come out to a Silverton Skirmish. It's not very far from Hubbard, and the atmosphere is pretty relaxed.

I'm hoping to hold a game there mid March pending approval from the field owners.

yea I definitely will try. I can't be hard on them too much since iv'e never been to a skirmish either  but its harder when you have no friends to go with.

Word booty! Come play. Don't worry bout people dawging on your kit. I have way more gear than I need, but actually prefer to just roll with my gun and water.

But would suggest wire half masks. I think it'd be pretty traumatic to new players (to the point of them never wanting to play again) to have a tooth shot out.

You know, the last skirmish I was at, I left all my "ubercooltactical" gear at home and wore cammies while carrying spare mags in a pocket. Nobody said a word.

Also, Riddick's games tend to draw a large crowd that only about half have spiffy gear.

If you have fun playing 3v3, you'll have an absolute ball at 20v20 or 100v100. Trust me.

The Silverton skirm was where I played my first airsoft game ever. I wore tan pants and black shirt, and had an absolute blast! Not one word was said about my lack of tacticool gear. I do whatever I can to encourage the people who are obviously new to our sport, and I know the rest of my Specdet brothers that have already posted, are the same way. As long as people show up with the bare essentials, and don't act like an a$$ hat, I get excited to see new blood on the field!
Ricks games ( Homefront/ red dawn) is the same way, and I personally get a kick out of helping the noobs!
