Airsoft fields in Northern Japan

Postby Aforbit » Tue Jul 30, 2013 11:30 am

Soo it looks like I will be going to Japan in a few months. I have been doing some research on the country and were Airsoft is played ("surival game" as its known in Japan). Sadly I have not been able to find any airsoft fields in North Japan. I will be up in the northern parts of Japan Aomori Pref. in The Tohoku Region.

Anyone know of any ?

Well, the nearest airsoft ANYTHING I've found in Northern Japan in a hobby shop in Akita City, in Akita prefecture south of Aomori. If you get a chance to stop in there, you might be able to talk the owner (who doesn't speak english) into telling you where the fields are, however they are very protective of their playfields and may not want some foreigner they have never met to show.

In a personal note, having seen the Japanese "Survival Game" I'd say don't waste your time. Japanese airsoft is 9/10 a beauty pagent with very little playing. The gearwhores will stand around and take pictures, the players will skirm for an hour or two, and everybody will break for curry and go home before the last train.

Nebuta Matsuri though....hit that shit like a hurricane!

Change curry to tacos, and I see some striking similarities.

Thank you tombstone for your help. uhhgg it sound like my stuff is gonna collect dust for the next 3 years
I might be able to get a shop team going or something. The place I am going to and will be staying at is a fairly close nit community or at least that's what the Facebook page and welcome packet says.

I got a friend up in Sapporo, Hokkaido he tells me that there is nothing up by him but he was unsure if anyone played down in Aomori.

Do you know what the laws are about open play in japan? I am not talking about playing in the streets of Aomori but in northern Aomori there is a lot of woods and mountains to play in.

I am told the area I will be staying in will be mostly farm land with any luck maybe I can pay a farmer a few yen to let a few folks play on their untilled fields.

I maybe just grabbing at straws here and maybe it's a lost cause but it can't hurt to try; It's still gonna be a few months before I go to japan. I will keep researching this and I will post whatever I can find... If anything I will at least post up here what I am doing so if anyone is going to play up north they have a POC (point of contact) to ask.

I hate having spent all this money on an LMG/AEG and then have to give it up 3 months later. On the bright side all the gear was free (thank you uncle sam for 4 deployments to Iraq  )

The Nebuta Matsuri looks like a lot of fun I will be sure to check it out.
