As much as I love you, Brandon, this is bullshit.

That's a f***ed shitty attitude. Basically telling people that if they're poor they shouldn't try to participate in this hobby is f***ed up. Not all of us grow up with parents who make good money.

It's also not true. In most cases it's significantly cheaper than paintball or other hobbies.

Yeah, me too, too bad that place is clear cut now. I gave up trying to get permission when it got logged.

Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to beat you to death with it because it is empty

This. $30-$45 for a one day affair with camping if you're lucky. I see no reason to complain. If you can't afford it, skirm it up and save your money. Start choosing which events you want to attend more carefully and budget for the hobby. I've paid out for a lot of games that cost way more than anything on the calendar here and, most of the time, I got more than my money's worth.

There are naturally forming markets as far as I can see.

You have free games, which are just people in the woods. Sometimes people take charge, sometimes not. But you get what you pay for. Good to shazaam around and see old people.

You have R&R where they charge a cheaper fee like $10-25 for a weekend, and include toilets, showers, parking and some good amenities. Good beef jerky also.

You have Riddick games that are $25-50 for weekends and have more players, bigger fields, and some more props.

You have MSW (Milsim West) games that host milsim and have more detailed missions and cooperation. They usually cost $50-100 based on how big they are. They are definitely worth it.

I don't mind paying for games but i do also like knowing that the games i go to like rick"s games are going to be fun. and have structure to them. I know it's hard to keep 100 plus people going and we are blessed to have some good people out there that put on descent games. So props to the guys running the games. They make airsoft better than just back lot games and i feel that's worth paying just a little more for.

I completely understand people are feeling the recent economy woes, and kudos Strykers, for asking the question on the board, instead of bitching in the crowd (which I heard a bit of at L.O.W.). But, I will say what I've been telling the complainers- What else are you going to do, that gives you two days of game play, and a camp spot, for that amount of money? If event hosts don't make money, we wind up playing capture the flag at skirms all the time. That's fun too, but we all enjoy a shit storm, and the big events provide that. I will continue to go to the free skirms, and the large events, and be happy with paying for them. I think that the guys that run the free skirms on a regular basis should ask for a minimal donation, and use that money for a few props, or field improvements! Just my take...
