Some random questions

Postby icebullet » Sun Feb 05, 2012 12:26 am

I figured I'd put this into community general.

1. Where can I get some 7.62 mags for the SR-25? (It's an AR-10, but same thing. It's made by CA) I hear that Magpul PTS 20LR magazines work, but I need someone to confirm that.

2. What do you guys use for side plates? My EAPC is quite floppy with out them, and I need it for pouch stability.

3. Depending on the event, will my gun be allowed even if it's chronoing at about 410 fps? I've got a sidearm, so the engagement rules are not to hard to fill. (I would like to fire full auto, so I want it at the assault rifle level)

Call the surgeons and tell them to take the day off, because I'll be doing all the operating now.

There's a point where this needs to stop, and we've clearly passed it

1. PTS 20LR mags work in CAs, they're designed using CAs IIRC.

2. Hard foam boards, like swimming kickboards.

3. If they're using AP rules, then no. Have you chronoed the gun yourself, or are you going by what the box says?

CA, G&P, and PTS mags will all work.

Ceradyne ESAPI side plates.

Some events are more lax, but most have a hard 400FPS limit. Unless your gun is semi only, I'd suggest using a weaker spring. Keep in mind elongated gearboxes like yours take PSG1 springs.

What shop? If it's ASGI, they don't seem to actually chrono the guns... My friends VFC SCAR (that is now mine) said it was shooting 415 or something like that from ASGI and it was shooting 382 when we chronoed it with an accurate chrono here.

AirsoftOutletNW, came with a strip of paper with the FPS read, and used the same exact battery as mine.

/faceplam

Battery doesn't affect the FPS. What brand/weight of BBs, hopup setting and bucking affect it much more.

1.The PTS mags work great and would suggest that.

2.You shouldn't need side plates to make your pouches more stable unless you're sticking lead on your sides. If your cummerbund is floppy, you need to tighten your rig up. I don't have side plates in on my EPC and have no issues with "flopping". Some dummy soft armor wouldn't be a bad idea though. Get a $5 camping mat and cut it to shape, same with the front and back. Side plates are nothing but annoyance IMHO. Main plates are very much needed however.

3. Up the the event host.
