Question about optimal settings for Hero Cams

Postby London » Mon Nov 21, 2011 10:56 pm

I love to airsoft, and I love to make videos of airsoft. Up until now I've been using a FujiFilm Finepix XP10 on a jerry-rigged clamp mount on my helmet. It worked, kind of. Eventually though my camera developed an audio problem, and the field of view was kind of limited. So I finally broke down and bought a HD Hero2 camera.

The HD Hero2 has tons of settings and I want to maximize as much as I can, resolution, decent field of view, battery life, and storage on the card. So my question is, does anyone else here use this or any of the Hero cams? And if you do, what are the optimal settings that you've found work best for airsoft?

I use the R3 setting (I think). It's the highest definition 60fps one... Either way, you need to get extra spare batteries and a very large memory card.

Okay thanks! I'll give that a try. Yeah I have already purchased another spare battery and am looking at either getting the Battery Bacpac or getting an external USB battery pack like they have for MP3 players and such. Evike.com had a video about how you can use those for almost endless battery life. I also currently have two 16GB cards from my old camera, but am definitely looking to upgrade to 32GB.
