Question about tracers and tracer units

Discuss anything and everything here that's Airsoft related.

JG tracer/mock suppressors have trouble lighting every bb in full auto of you have a decent rof. There's tons of literature and yotuube videos on most of the suppressor units out there and they all share many of the same problems.

If you do go that route, the TM unit is the only way to go. It costs an arm and a leg but I have owned a variety of tracers, and the TM unit is made to such a higher standard that it makes a noticable difference in the brightness and the longevity of the bb's illumination. And no matter how fast you're shooting, that unit will light up every single shot.

As far as BBs go, Bio tracer rounds suck, they light up in some place, and stay dark in others, the consistency is not there. Most sites allow you to use normal tracer rounds so make sure you use them. I've actually had the most success with the Airsoft Elite tracers. Also, green is the only color thats actually useful. Super bright, looks amazing, and red/orange are nowhere near as easy to see. That may be more useful for concealing your position, but you better believe that people aren't going to call their hits every time if they can get away with it.

Can't go wrong with a HUTU. When I upgraded my hopup, bucking, and barrel I used the stock hopup in my GR-16 to make a HUTU with. So I have a night game hopup/barrel assembly and a day game assembly. All I have to do is swap assemblies and connect a battery and I'm ready to rock. No need to have a gun solely for night games.
I'm a "fair weather" airsofter. I only play in the pouring rain, freezing cold, or broiling heat.

Unless you build it yourself you're going to be looking at at least $80 bucks.
the Madbull units are a two parter. You have to buy the hopup itself $40 then the tracer unit $40. Then you will have to do the wiring to hook it up. its easy if you have a front wired gun but if you have rear you will have to work out the routing. And you will only be able to use this solution on M4 platform guns. So that leaves the TM or Madbull suppressor tracer units. (the other brands are shit) this will now allow you to use it on ANY -14 barrel. Its a little more pricy but the install and use is well worth the extra 10-20 bucks. IMO
