Knowing when you're hit?

Discuss anything and everything here that's Airsoft related.

This is pretty much the end result of this thread.

If you think there is the slightest chance that you have been hit, call yourself out. Is it really difficult enough to coerce another 5 page thread out of us?

I remember in Steel Talon there was so much rain, pine needles, tree branches, bb's, and the like falling from the sky, I would feel something strike me, not knowing what the hell it was, and ask the men I was runnin' with if they saw me get hit. I'm sure there has been a time when I was hit and did not hear or feel it, however, if I THINK I am hit, I call it. Period. If someone tells me, I was hit. I call it. Still, mistakes do and will happen. I play with as much honor as I can muster, and that is what I ask from my comrades in the field. Furthermore, I like to honor the man who took me out by letting him know he got the jump on me… screaming HIT, waving my arm, and then depositing a red, dead rag on my head. Sometimes I even tell them, "nice shot".

Then there is what happened at Infidel Bash, 2010. I got the drop on this kid on Hamburger Hill, was to close, so I pulled my secondary, and blasted him three to four times in the back. He turned on me and brought up his primary. When I told him I had just shot him, he said he didn't feel it. That's the thing that gets my ire going. That's the sort of hacking I would love to see simply go away. If someone has the drop on you and they say you're hit. Call it. Period. And always remember to honor the player that hit you. Show it. Yell it out proud.

I don't mind getting close and shooting you till you call it, No I wont stop when you cry, Just when you call your hit. Loud and Proud and put your hands up, You see I can't hear you over that Systema High torque.

I'm with you. High ROF M-249s can generally get folks to call their hits. I run a 4x optic and white pellets so I can watch the stream. If I walk a short burst across somebody and they don't call it, I just rope them until they call the hit. With 2500 chances per box, and 30 or so shots a second, it's a pretty fair bet that they will eventually call the hit.

The only problem I have ever had is when their buddies downrange manage to tag me while I am "ballistically educating" their comrade. I still call the hit, mind you. But I'm pretty likely to address the issue personally with the fucktard downrange once I am "dead".

Oh, and guncams rock in CQB. Nothing like dumping video of the douche in question for the admins to see.

All in all, what everyone has said is pretty spot on.

In my opinion, there is so much you can do: ban people, yell, scream, cry, but its just one of those things that we just need to stay on top of and make perfectly clear that it will not be tolerated. Players need to remember something: there is no PRIZE for winning, therefore, there is no reason to cheat and avoid calling your hits, you'll get right back in the game as soon as you get back to the spawn.

*Maturity is KEY*

What not to do: at Faction Wars 2.1 (i believe this was the event), an altercation took place that should never occur. Apparently one player had claimed to shoot the other and then was shot himself. GRANTED it cant be proven that he was shot, but it was the reaction that was over the top. One player approached the other, (keep in mind these are grown men), and proceeded to yell, cuss, and threaten each other. If others had not stepped in, a fight was probably about to occur. THIS can ruin airsoft for some people and severely hurt the reputation of airsoft.

Play clean everybody.
Awkward silence is what I strive for...
