Suitable eye protection

Postby thenewkid » Fri Sep 17, 2010 11:53 pm

Hey guys. I have some goggles that I got from a friend who used to airsoft, but they fog up like no tomorrow and I hate not being able to see, obviously haha. I was thinking of picking up some goggles/glasses type things at evike (I'd prefer that they come from there if you have other suggestions). Heres what I'm looking at so far:

http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info ... s_id=32680 These say that they meet ANSI standards and are anti fog, but they do look a tad flimsy.

http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info ... s_id=29961 These look pretty nice and are full seal.

http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info ... s_id=28935 These are kind of similar

The goggles that my friend gave me look like this http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info ... s_id=24928 , but I can't tell for sure if they're the same.

I'd also prefer not to use goggles if any of the three I mentioned are suitable, because I want to change my look and I think not having big goggles would look better. That being said, I want to remain able to tell what I look like, so they have to be safe enough for my eyes.

Thanks

the top ones do not meet AP ANSI standards (Z87.1 or higher) and the others don't say, i would personally recommend a pair of mesh goggles like these http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info ... s_id=32868 i say mesh because then you don't have the fog problems, and they are usually lower profile.

Mesh. There is no solid lens that will not fog, at least on my face.

Got those for 8 bucks at Sportsman Warehouse (now Wholesale sports). Work great and never have had a fogging issue. I'd get shooting glasses over goggles since goggles will fog, no matter what you do to them. Soap and anti fog will just make it take longer for it to happen.

Are good as well. Being able to change the lens is handy incase the weather takes a turn for the worse.

I use shooting glasses, and they work great unless you wear a balaclava, face mask, or if you are in thick brush. then it fogs a lot.

I've used cheap safety glasses from the hardware store for all the games I've been to. They're small, light, and inexpensive, and they meet the appropriate standard. Yeah, they'll fog right up if you use any sort of facemask, but I don't usually run with one.

I bought my eye protection on Ebay for $25.99

US MILITARY REVISION DESERT LOCUST GOGGLES FOLIAGE

here is the link: the seller ship fast and these are original, brand new Revision goggles. The lens material can withstand a real shotgun blast.

http://cgi.ebay.com/US-MILITARY-REVISIO ... 3066wt_982

I bought them coz' it was a great deal I believe and Revision manufactures good products. Also the package came with extras like carrying pouch, cleaning lens, extra clear lens, etc.
