I really didn't know where else to post this, so I am making a new thread.

As many of you know I have been trying to get my name out there for working the events as an admin/medic. I immensely enjoy watching you guys have fun, and I enjoy enjoy the chance to help when the need arises. I believe that the presence of basic medical facilities on the playing field adds a sense of professionality to the games, and I plan on volunteering my services for a long time to come.

Like a lot of you, financial hardship is constantly at my door, and my medical supplies cost money, and the event coordinators cannot pay, nor should they truly have to. my service is to you, the players, not the event coordinator.

Currently I have a basic first aid kit, and not much more, I am slowly recieveng physical supply donations, but my goal is to replace my first responder kit that was stolen out of my car at an event last year, so I am putting it out there that I will be graciously accepting any much needed donations at any events that I will be working. I only need to raise $300. So luckily I don't need that much, but if anyone would be gracious enough to give donations when they see me at an event or at any other time, then I will be extraordinarily grateful, as well as any of you that have the misfortune to end up on my exam table. below is the link for the main article that I need, so any donators can see what I am looking to replace:

This is the exact kit that as stolen from me last summer, but that aside, reobtaining this is my main goal. thank you for your time, any serious comments or suggestions are welcome.

I think the spirit of what your trying to do is admirable but the liability involved in providing more than basic first aid/CPR if trained is fairly high. I would be very careful what type of care your providing outside of a scope of a layperson as you wouldn't be covered by the Good Samaritan laws. I'm not trying to be a tool here and crap on your thread I just don't want to see you run into any problems with your endeavor.

Redd, I paid for your services at Rez 2 and I donated a $60 medical kit so don't lump me into the "event promoters cannot pay" I'm not one of them

If he is a licensed emt-b or higher then the good Samaritan laws will cover anything he does in his scope, but off duty, as long as he receives no compensation (with consent of course). I have that exact bag you linked, and most of the supplies inside, plus some more. message me if you want pictures, and we can work out details. You are far braver then I as far as helping people.

riddick, You were awesome for that, but I would like to take the heat off of the promoters. that was the spirit of the comment, i appologize for the poor wording, and Yes Your kit that you donated is the basic kit i was referring to and it has served the community well. As to certifications, My BFA/CPR expired on the fifth of this month, As for the good samaritan law, I have discussed this in much depth with my lawer, and so long as I do not try to give medical care outside of basic first aid and/or emergency first aid in a life threatening situation, I am fully covered, as well as the event promoters. If I were to try to intubate some one or set a broken bone, then there is a serious problem with that. but if I were to splint the injured limb, and perform cpr, that is completely allowable and protected. But in reality I am there to provide water, bandages, wraps, a place to rest, and someone who can help clean the minor cuts and scratches that are recieved during every day play. That is what I am trying to provide. I enjoy doing it and the people I have helped seem very grateful, which makes it more gratifying as well

And pacman, you aren't shitting on my thread, you are being safe, logical, and reasonable, and I appreciate the candor. rest assured though, legally the bases are covered, and honestly, if i weren't so broke i wouldn't ask for anything besides a raffle ticket...lol.

anyways.. let any comments and/or discussions continue...

Legally the bases are not covered if your touching people with the pretext that your a medical professional.

Alright, that came off a little harsh. Let me reword it... you have been certified before. So I am going to make the assumption that you went to college for it. Half the classes are how to not get sued... in at least one if not all of them they tell you not to do stuff like this. It is kinda hard to say you just happened to be there if your hiring, or loaning, yourself out as a medical professional. I like that you still are happy to help people, but if something happens and you get reported to the medical board, you will never get certified again. Worse case scenario... mad parents sue you and the promoter for giving medical advice/treatment to their child... now both you and the promoter, possibly the land owner, are all in hot water.

I strongly suggest you reword your first post into more of a "looking for my bag that was stolen" and hope that people will feel generous and donate items, or take it to pms.

With your NREMT number you get huge discounts off these bags... your looking at 70 bucks if you get it straight from the suppliers. Why are you linking one that is that much?

It is great to see someone willing to help, but use your head, and protect your a$$.
