FN2000 loan

Postby tommyboy » Wed Apr 07, 2010 2:34 am

I am looking for someone local (as in the Portland Metro area) who has one of the JLS FN2000 aeg's that they are willing to loan out for a day or 2.
This is the situation:
I have one of the FN2000 aeg's but due to a minor incident I accidently broke the mag catch in the gun. Its made out of really cheap, soft metal. Hell its almost plastic in my opinion. Which has left my FN2000 impotent for the lack of a better word. Its no good since it cant hold a mag any longer. Well I can fix the problem fairly easily. All I need to do is get my hands on another FN2000 which has an intact mag catch, simply remove the mag catch (which comes out really easily). then I just have to make a quick mold of the existing mag catch and make myself a new one out of much stronger material.
Absolutely NO HARM will come the gun I would be borrowing. After the mold is made, I simply replace the mag catch back into the borrow FN2000, test fire to ensure it is in working condition so that I may ensure i return the borrowed gun in the exact condition that I recieved it.
So in a nutshell thats what I am looking for. I am willing to pay (a reasonable fee) for borrowing your weapon. And to ensure that I dont run off with your gun I would be willing to work something out with you, maybe something like a deposit or whatever. So thats what I am looking for. So if you have an FN2000 and are willing to let me borrow it for a day or 2 please contact me.
Now, there is kind of a time deadline here though. about 6-7weeks to get this done. That is to borrow the FN2000 and do my work. I am having surgery here in about 8weeks whicih will lay me up for a while. I thought this would be a project for me to work on while I am re-cooperating. As I said I can make the mold in a day or so. The project would be me making my new mag catch, installing it and then doing other upgrades and custom work on my FN2000.
But your (that is the person who would loan me their FN2000 gun), your part would be done over a weekend or whatever.
So if you are local, again that is the Portland Metro area, and you have the gun and are willing to allow me to do this. Please contact me or post and I will contact you.
Thank you,
Tommy
