Airsoft in the Portland area...

Postby Wattguy » Sat Aug 27, 2011 7:07 pm

Hey guys I'm new to AP, but not to airsoft and I've been reading some forums and it seems like there's a lot of new players in the Portland/Vancouver area, but they can't seem to link up with each other somehow, or are kinda overwhelmed by the bigger games... I was just going to post this and see how many people from this area comment and maybe we can get a game together or something... :)

I was hoping for a pic-heavy airsoft thread..."Airsoft IS Portland" made me want a new field or something like that...

Sir, this did not deliver.

First off, fix your title. The "s" key is no where near the "n" key.

Secondly, generally people don't just "get a game going," those who host games post up organised events and/or skirmishes.

Thirdly, you are aware this community is centred around people who live in the Portland area, right...?

I'm always looking for a skirm. I don't like big events

Also this.

Look around for skirms at Scappoose and Silverton, those are the most common places. I think there's a Scap skirm next month, even.

Yeah, welcome to AP. I to am from the Portland Area. Going out to a lot of those big games may be a little overwhelming but they're fun as hell. Start to get to know everybody here what Nasty said is a great way to meet new people.

Don't be overwhelmed by the bigger games, there's gaggles of kids who are much less prepared than you attending those games.

This. I was always confused by the people who were overwhelmed or scared of large games. My first AP event was an Op with a lot of people. It was surprising that so many people did exactly what I liked, but it wasn't scary or anything. I have a really good memory from it, but maybe it helped that I was with a close friend who was also brand-new to AP. But don't be intimidated, once you start playing with the group you'll wish you had found them sooner.

That being said, a lot of the best fun to be had is in the Scappoose/Silverton skirms and mini ops.

Don't be deterred. Just start showing up and playing airsoft! Even idiots like me are allowed.

Welcome.
