Here's the story behind this creation. Our friend Jacob Wacker use to play airsoft and what not, he had an accident broke his neck and now he is wheelchair bound. So we created this thing so he could atleast try and get in there and play with us a little bit. We have made the rules a little different for him to be "hit" but we think this will work for atleast playing as our group of friends and even hopefully to be joined at some AP games. He have taken an old G&g m14 sawed off the stock and added a new trigger system to the gun because he could not pull the trigger. We Took a proximity sensor and a relay.When he waves is hand so far over (an adjustable amount from an inch to several feet) the gun will fire. the AP-QAV isnt done yet so somethings will be different such as a covering for his legs but for the most part this is what it will be like. the gun has been mounted by taking a camera's tripid mount and attachting it to the vechicle itself where the gun clips into that by having liquid metal (mighty puddy) attaching to a plexiglass plated and that clips into the camera mount

ill have alot more pictures soon to come. should be in the next few days. We have impacted tested the windshield and it was putting slight cracks in it from 20ft with an echo1 m249 so to fix it we will be getting a very strong mesh and new plexiglass windsheild and using both to make sure it wont be breaking on him

If I may make a suggestion, use a SAW instead of the M14 because reloading mid caps, or winding high caps may be somewhat problematic.

Also, Lexan would be considerably more protective than plexiglass (albeit more expensive).

Seriously guys, you're amazing people. That's an awesome thing to do for a friend and I hope that game organizers will allow him to come play (I can't think of any reason not to).

they say he has a possibility to walk again in like 10-15 years but the chances are not in his favor.

a little correction i was talking to him last night and i guess his dad used lexan for the windshield instead of plexiglass. but money isnt a problem for us.

we were thinking for the mag we would take an old m249 box mag another friend of ours has and modify the top of it that accually goes into the mag port to fit an m14 and then just extend the feed tubes and mount the box mag to the side of the inside. but if that doesnt happen he doesnt have a problem winding a high cap he just runs the top of his hand across it

This is pretty cool, and show's the ingenuity of people.



However, I'm seeing this as impractical for AP events. With the closing of CAGE/S4/PTOC/indoor arenas, our games have gone outdoors (or returned to outdoors I guess is more appropriate). The fields are often muddy, hilly, dirt, and not wheelchair accessible. This would be great for indoors, don't get me wrong. But the only field I can see this working at would be War Paint since it is flat and has a "paved" road. I do hope that you all can find a way to make it terrain worthy, but in it's current iteration, I just cannot see this coming to any AP events. But, from the looks of it, you all could get it to work, and if you can, then I'd love to shoot at/against it/him.
