I think that look is just because of the VN style mag. I believe I can make out a reset button on the right side of the rifle which would mean it is not an AR-10. But then again I can always be wrong, I'm not the best judge of grainy screenshot micro pictures.

the AR-10(T) is the one from the first 2 fallout games right down to a um T. Round forgrip, boxy like mag. Just make it have wood foregrip and stock and you'd have it!

It looks more like the furniture off a Model 601 AR15 to me.

i can definately see the resemblance to an AR10, and it makes sense. also, calling it a VN mag isn't really right since the AR10 never saw combat in vietnam or really anywhere. and its a 7.62 rifle as well, in it's time the mag catch probably might not have been sturdy enough to hande long stanag-esque mags. even the fals extended mags hold about 20 rounds and are longer than stanag magazines. the mag does have similarities but where as the VN mag was just a quirk of the U.S., this rifle didn't really need or want longer mags.

my apoligies for the useless post. wish i could make it out to this event so badly.
forgive my ignorance, it happens to everyone.

Yeah . . . it totally wasn't used by the Sudanese from like 1958ish until 1985ish . . . . and the Portuguese Caçadores Pára-quedista battalions didn't use them during counter-insurgency campaigns in Angola and Mozambique, and later in the 70's in East Timor... Oh, and The Italian Navy didn't buy a bunch for their COMSUBIN underwater commando teams.

Yeah, it totally didn't see combat anywhere, and the mag catch was soooo weak . . . . .

while i do not apreciate the sarcasm, that was very informative. also just as useless as my post.

also i did say vietnam, not anywhere, and i only read information on the U.S.'s use of the weapon, which was all non-combative. can you post the links? i'm curious if it really did see combat in vietnam. if it did, then you could call them VN mags... also, i said "might not be strong enough" i did not say it was weak, i simply speculated on quality.
