This item is NOT offered for sale.
My Scratch-build FN Herstal FN30 Machine gun body:
Image
The standard M1919 side plates and sight-mount are here.

Image
The buffer group is made of stacked, 6mm-thick sheets. Once I get the final contours, I'll smooth it out some.

Image
The trigger slide is made, but not installed yet. I need to learn something called tolerances...the slot and the slide are exactly the same size. Perfect if I wanted a press-fit.

Image
The two side plates are separate parts now, as are the front and back assemblies, and the top latch. Each of these items can be independently removed, without disturbing the others. What ever gets put inside this, its parts will be easy to get to.

Image
I even added a safety bar. One day, I'll even come up with a charging handle I like. For now, they are a blank slot, with three hole positions.

Image
The small loop inside the grip area is for a on/off "safety" switch.

Image
None of these parts have been de-burred or sanded. This is how they come from the CNC, snapped out of the "trees I cut them into.

More to come...

Maybe for just the body structure...those were a LOT of work to build.
No matter, I'm too busy making the 1919's right now to even dust off the CAD.

But I never have made one on the CNC....hm...Image[/url]

A few more shots. Almost sun-up, will take some clear outdoor shots today.
Image
The two semi-circular cutouts in the top of the handle mount are for the safety slide assembly.

Image
There will be a slide block very similar to what the real-steel has, to block the trigger when the safety is "on".

Image
I have standardized my M1919 body and parts. This grip will go onto any of the last 20 guns I've built. four #8, 1/2"-long screws hold it into place. The same size screw is used, literally everywhere! Tear-down is a no-brainer, just toss all the screws into a handy container- no sorting.

Image
Still experimenting with paint finishes, I wanted the grip to look like worn, cast aluminum. Lower grip mount is one part, thermo-formed with two 30deg bends.

Happy New Year!!!

I have been BUSY!
Getting ready to wrap up another limited run of "those things I make", and looking forward to resting a while.

It's New Year's Eve, 2010, and I don't need to lose weight, or quit smoking, or quit hittin' the wife, or even pledge to clean the already-clean shop.

Getting good and Party-Mood tonite, care to the wind.
It's been a great year, and I want to thank everybody who sent their best wishes our way.

Wifey's cancer is but a memory, (hopefully) to never return.

I've got over 60 freeking helicopters now...

A mesh bag around the flat-black AEG, spray a few more colors, you can get a snake texture.

Image
Even a cheap-O Well90 becomes a work of art.

Image
Khaki, walnut, and a bit more flat black are the only colors used. I use 3 earth tones for best effect, but you can get WILD with color:

Image
Look at the speaker-grilles in my truck. This is just black over red, and took about five minutes to do up. This is a very good "First painting project", by a long shot, as the paint application and prep are minimal, and you have the instant-gratification angle going for it, as the light coat of paint used dries almost immediately. I've done cellphones, TV sets, and even blenders this way! NOTE: Flat black over gloss black is intense.
