GOB - Gravity Operated Bipod

Postby Lester » Wed May 12, 2010 8:20 pm

I'll have to do some research on this... not sure if I just happened upon something totally unique or if this is a pretty common thing. Either way... check it out. :D
The motions involved with operating this bipod feel pretty natural, the jolting motion used to unfold the bipod would look pretty BA when entering a battle-field. I can't see this being very convinient for anything else than show though.
I'm not saying I made this bipod from scratch or anything... just sharing something I thought was cool.

(Oh... one thing I left out in the video is how I did this... I took out the springs and the knobs used to operate the bipod in it's store shelf state... I was just lucky and it worked in a different way without them.)

Personally I'd prefer my bipod to remain out of the way until I deploy it, not dropping free at random.

I'd also like a bipod that I can lock into place, rather than have it swinging all around like Jebus's mom.

I'd have to agree with Mini-Marine. The concept is kinda cool, but overall not too useful.

Wouldn't it fall down when you lower your gun to run?

It would not look BA to be fumbling with your gun right after you start running for cover...

But I was implying it would NOT be useful for looks, seeing as you would look like a retard fumbling around with it. Read the post...
