28 Weeks Later Kit

Postby 1SGT.Reaper » Mon Nov 18, 2013 8:13 pm

So I have decided to start a new kit, a unique one away from all the hype of Delta Force, Seal Team Six, Pj kits, etc. I am going to go with a kit that is similar to the one that Jeremy Renner Uses in 28 Weeks Later. So I need some help identifying some of the gear he uses so that I can make it as close to the real thing as possible.
Help Needed with:
Plate Carrier
Boots
M14 (I need to know a good model that would work and look cool like the one pictured below, also need help with mounts and scope options)
Gloves
Watch
Drop Holster
Throat Mic
Undershirt
Any help is welcome, also if a replica is available of the actual product please list. Also any suggestions on how I should put it together are welcome.

Pretty sure you want an M16.

I don't know if this helps, and I'm sorry if it doesn't, but it looks like your going to need finger-less gloves

Man, you guys are just a shining example of the best AP has to offer. Way to be stand up guys and encourage people to be part of the Airsoft Community. Keep up the good work.

There is no point in the movie, in my experience with it, where they ever get close enough to him to get a good look at his watch, nor his undershirt. I'm pretty sure that being the case you can get away with whatever is functional and fits your needs.

The only thing I can say for certain is that the boots are Nike SFB's in Tan. Hope that gets you started.

You are interested in an M14, go with CYMA or G&P if your on a low budget, G&G if you want real wood, of TM if you have the money, I don't know about DMR versions. However what interests me is the M4, the base gun I can't tell because I can't see the trades, please correct me about my mistakes but I believe it has the following on it. EOTech 551, magnifier (please fill in the blank on the type), MFT light mount, light (please fill in the blank on the type), larue? universal grip, and the most interesting part, it looks to me like it has a SIG stock. Please correct all the mistakes and blanks.

Thank you,
Airsoftee

As too the boots they look like Nike SFBs but the cross symbole on the ankle makes me think they aren't.

The gun is an M4 with an Eotech the film is inaccurate as the maginfer he uses is an AN PVS night vision sight (as he uses it mostly during the day) , and im almost certainly sure that the stock is a CAA stock, the pictures on the internet confirm this.

Well, here's what we have (I got the M14 picture, bottom link):

ACU Cut UCP/ACU pattern uniform (top and bottom)

The boots could be SFB, or they could be the Rocky ones here, either way, the cross is sharpied on, it's not original.
http://www.patriotsurplus.com/rk1070.ht ... QgodABYAgA

The vest I can't identify, but one that's really close is the Condor DFPC, or EXO if you're smaller/slimmer
http://www.airsoftoutletnw.com/condor-d ... lle-vest-3
http://www.airsoftoutletnw.com/products ... armor-vest

Pouches you'll probably need larger photos to get them perfect, but he's got M4 mag pouches across the front, a utility pouch on the side, and an admin pouch on the chest, along with an upside down knife.
http://www.airsoftoutletnw.com/condor-m ... ne-pouch-3
http://www.airsoftoutletnw.com/condor-emt-pouch-4

None of this is exact, because I don't know the identical carrier or brand for pouches. His M4 pouches have tabs on them, the Condor ones don't. His side utility pouch is really big, the Condor EMT or Rip Away EMT is a little smaller, but will probably work great for you.

It doesn't necessarily have to be brand exact, if it's close enough to pull off the look.

Here's another thing: He carries the M4 through most of the film. If you want the most iconic look, it's the M4. Now, you certainly can go with the M14, but the only problem there is that M14 mags won't fit in the M4 mag pouches on his vest. So you'd want to go with different pouches if you keep the M14.

On the M14, if you want a quality airsoft gun, go with the G&G or CA M14. The UTG ones copy the TM design and are not quite as good, but are less expensive. Either way, for that bipod you'll probably only get it on the ACM version of the M14. I haven't seen them aftermarket.

The scope mount is a basic M14 scope mount. UTG used to make one but does not anymore. AONW stocks the G&G ones but they are lower profile. The scope looks like a 3-9x40 with a 30mm body. Anything close will get you the look (like a 1 inch body, or 3-12x40 w/ 30mm body)

Here's the closest I got to finding his watch, but good luck affording it:

Again, don't feel like you HAVE to get it 100% brand/authentic perfect. If it's close, no one else knows what it is, so close is usually good enough.

My computer never even showed a picture with the M14 or even the failty load symbol. All I had evidence of was that he mis-typed when he was saying what he wanted. I love seeing new people in the sport, more power to this kit. This is what we need more of, less tacti-cool guys rockin SF uniforms and more people doing things we would otherwise pass up on our hunts for loadout insperation.

Okay I have a pretty good idea on most things now, one final piece is the drop leg holster anything similar available that you guys can think of.

It looks like it's a drop leg panel with the holster and a pistol mag pouch on it.

If you can find higher res pics, or just close up shots, it'll be a lot more helpful. It's rather hard to tell from these shots.

It looks like a Safariland or G-code on a strange leg platform, but as I said, it's hard to tell from these pics.

I did find this pic of the top of his drop leg, which confused me even more. That's a Safariland top strap, but now he has a USP, so yea...
