Waterproof spray and your BDUs?

Is it ok to use waterproofing spray on your ACUs? I have some issue Multicam I want to waterproof the bottom legs and knees of for the winter. They're not going to change color or disintigrate or anything will they? Anyone else have experience waterproofing their BDUs?

What are you planning on using? Scotch Guard and the like are pretty much pointless.

Any kind of spray on will give you minor water resistance, cloth is going to soak up h20 . For the best h20 proofing short of rubber raingear ( sweaty) get some surplus Military ECWS gore tex gear. Ive seen it pretty reasonable on line.

The best possible way to do it is with a pair of these gaiters. They keep your pants dry as a bone. You may find a color that can match your camo well. They are very quiet also.
