Australia SASR Loadout help

Postby Nark » Sat May 19, 2012 6:50 pm

Hye Guys I've done some searching on here and haven't come across anything yet about SASR loadouts. It seems that multicam is the primary uniform although I see several soldiers in DPCU but I suspect those are commandos. Any help would be awesome!

SASR guys are using a lot of what SAS guys are using. Lots of Paraclete RAVs/HPCs/SOHPCs and assort kit, some BHI, some Eagle, some Crye.

SOTG guys generally look like they got jizzed on by HSGI and DBT.

I thought the SASR were a part of the SOTG from Australia that are in the middle east at the moment and that they are really one in the same. Could be wrong.

Here's my reference site for the above photos.

UPDATE: and the soldiers wearing DPCU are indeed Commandos from the Commando Regiment that is part of the SOTG. I don't think that the SASR wears DPCU.

Special Air Service Regiment is under Special Operations Task Group. Nowadays they're mostly wearing Cryes or Platatac Multicams, but some are still running around wearing DPDUs and DPCUs. They're using Eagle, DBT, SORDau, HSGI, TT, Platatac, yadayadablahblah, and so on. I'm not sure what the Commando units are, they could be SASR or they could be their own thing.

Was looking through the Platatac store and came across the SMAC. It looks like it would work for an Aussie SASR loadout. What do you guys think?

If there ever was an SOF unit where the phrase "they use what they want" is actually true, SASR is it. It looks awesome, I say go for it.

But they're $600..... :( Soooooo expensive :( I was looking at one when I thought I'd be getting $1000+ back from taxes but it looks like that's not happening :(
