Anybody have a mesh facemask I could borrow?

Postby Snowman » Tue Jul 12, 2011 12:50 am

Bit of a random question, but I was wondering if someone had one of those Bitter End lower facemasks or one of the knockoffs that I could borrow for a trip down to California. I was planning on going to SCViper while I was there, and and the place is one of those that requires full face protection.

I'll be going down to Medford on the 14th, meaning I'll be passing through Portland and Salem to get there. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could loan me one of those(v) things for about 10 days. I never use one, so I never thought of getting one. SOCAL :(

Thanks.

I checked out the page for SCViper and found this.

Airsoft players are required to wear full face mask on any of the Giant Airsoft playing fields. “Mesh” or “Screen” masks are not allow because of the potential of the BBs shattering and passing though the screen to the eyes. Shop glasses, firing glasses or sunglass style eye protection are not allowed on Giant Airsoft fields either. The best source for an approved Airsoft mask would be a paintball rated mask.

Airsoft players may play on fields within firing distants of paintballs so it is required of airsoft players to have face protection that is suitible for both sports in case an Airsoft player is hit by a paintball.

I also saw that, but I also saw the pic on their page that said that mesh lower facemasks are permitted. No mesh goggles allowed, however. I believe the statement “Mesh” or “Screen” masks are not allow because of the potential of the BBs shattering and passing though the screen to the eyes." is referring to such a mask as this, but it is still somewhat confusing. Regardless, I would still appreciate it if someone could let me borrow a lower facemask.

Look at any of the SC Viper sneak peak videos. They are all wearing Mesh lower-half masks.

Apparently only Mesh goggle masks are not ok.

Also the uploader comments on the youtube vids addresses this same question and they actually say if you're in the village, you're not playing around paintballers and therefore mask rules are more lax.
